Ranking the best sophomore dorms at Duke University, according to students.

  • Number 5

    Kilgo Quad

    based on 2 reviews

"Kilgo hasn’t been updates like Crowell and Craven, but the rooms are still nice and it has the best location (especially for classes on Science Drive). Annoyingly, there is only one laundry room for the entire quad on the basement level. In one section, there is also only one water fountain on the first floor." - 4 years ago

    Hollows

    based on 1 review

"Best dorm at Duke that offers suite-style living. Unfortunately, the location is not great (10min walk for food). But, the community is here and the parties are here!" - 3 years ago

    Few Quad

    based on 1 review

"I lived in GG, and was really happy with the location. Next to the bus stop, WU, and close to my classes. I really liked my room, it wasn't too big or small but I made it into a space that I loved. The bathroom and laundry room were pretty shitty though. Showers were old, pipes on the floor would overflow and leave puddles on the floor, a dryer started on fire once, there was a leak in a shower once and the bathroom below it flooded, just in general pretty awful. In general it wasn't that much of a nuisance or detriment to my lifestyle though, just annoying to see the bougie ass bathrooms in other quads when we had what we had. Overall pretty solid experience." - 2 years ago

    Craven Quad

    based on 2 reviews

"Craven is really nice for an older dorm and is one of the most recently updated dorms on campus. The main issue with Craven is how the building is made. You have to walk outside to get to laundry, vending, and printing. It's an absolute pain. It's close to food, but it's not the closest, especially if you live on the back end of Craven. I've lived in two Craven rooms so far and they have both been pretty nice on the inside. My first one had two windows and was really long. My second had one window and was really short, but still had enough room for me. Also, sound travels like crazy. The doors to get inside the building are terribly heavy and can wake you out of your sleep sometimes. The room doors also have huge gaps underneath so you can hear everything and sound also comes through the vents. However, you may get used to it overtime. " - 1 year ago

    Keohane Quad

    based on 3 reviews

"Keohane 4E is one of the most up to date dorms on campus and has large rooms and floor amenities like a large common room and kitchen on the 1st and 3rd floor and printing stations. Large windows to let in a lot of natural light and the views on the second floor and above can be quite nice. Very close to Pitchforks and other dorms like Hollows and Edens. Only complaint is that sometimes the AC feels like its circulating pretty stale air. Overall, great dorm and would live there again if I have the chance!" - 3 years ago
