Morgan House
based on 2 reviews
"I lived in a 3-person Morgan apartment and shared the double room with a roommate.
Pros:
- Next to the Rec and Blair if you're someone that goes there a lot
- Has a Munchie Mart on the first floor if you need some quick food
- Apartment-style housing is nice in my opinion. You get your own bathroom (huge), a spacious living room, your own kitchen (huge, even if you're not a frequent cook), a storage closet (you can use this for suitcases, cleaning supplies, etc.), and get to control your temperature
- Bike parking is plentiful, and some are protected, which is good in case you have an e-bike
- You're next to the 21st Ave parking
- Morgan circle is super accessible and makes rides to and from the house just a little easier
- The sunset views can be lovely if you're on a higher floor (but you will get used to them quickly)
- The laundry room is much bigger than the Commons ones, but that's because more people live there [Side note: The dryers caught on fire at least twice during my year, which led to it being closed for a few days. I hope you learn to remove your lint from the dryers unless you like causing fire hazards]
Cons:
- You're pretty far away from main campus (~10-15 minute walk) and Commons (also ~10-15 minute walk)
- You're closest dining hall is pretty much Zeppos which is still about a 10-minute walk
- Don't over-rely on the Munchie Mart. Although I listed it as a pro, you will get tired of Highland Sushi quickly
- If you get the double room and share it with someone, know that these rooms are small (definitely smaller than some of the Commons double rooms)
- THE ELEVATORS---All caps might be dramatic, but this is something to consider when looking for housing. The elevators frequently (let's say every 2-3 weeks after the first 2ish months of school) break down. You might not think that one elevator needing maintenance is a big deal since there are 2 elevators, but it will slow down movement because lots of people live in Morgan, increasing your elevator wait times. [Side note: if you plan to live in Morgan during the 2023-2024 school year, OHARE announced that one of the elevators will be under maintenance until around Halloween. If you have the choice between Morgan or Lewis, I would choose Lewis for this reason alone because they offer the *exact same* rooms, except you will have functioning elevators]
- Elevation---this is like a half-con, but if you're coming from the VA hospital side, there are quite a few stairs to get to Morgan
tl;dr
Living in Morgan is nice because you have your own bathroom and kitchen (and you're close to Blair and the Rec if you go there often), but be mindful that you're far from dining halls, and the elevators tend to shut down. " - 1 year agoWe collected 2 dorm reviews for Morgan House

Hank Ingram House
based on 4 reviews
"Hank House is easily the best on campus and on commons! Being the newest house, Hank is the biggest and has the best community. I lived in a corner room which is arguably the biggest room in Hank and on all of commons. One of the bathrooms had flies in it but it wasn't such a bother and it seemed like an isolated bathroom. Overall, I had such a great time living here and hope that others get to share in that experience. " - 1 year ago

McTyeire Hall
based on 1 review
"A lot depends on the placement of your room and its size. I had a great experience with an average-sized single in a part of the building that was secluded, so the bathroom was not shared by many people. Great and convenient that the dining hall is in the building and the location of McTyeire is phenomenal for lazy people like me." - 4 years ago

Sutherland House
based on 3 reviews
"My review will be a little different because I only lived here for one semester and had a double to myself. Overall, a great quality building. Music room, communal kitchen (it was closed my semester), in-house laundry, seminar room, and common spaces on every floor. I thought my room had an amazing amount of space, but I didn’t have a roommate to share it. The bathroom, despite being communal, was very nice, clean all the time and the shower had great water pressure. It’s also super quiet most of the time. (I lived on floor 5) My only complaint is that it’s so far from anything on campus other than Commons Center and Peabody Library. I took advantage of the road access to get food delivery and lyfts often, and it was nice for when my parents came to pick me up. I believe overall, I was dealt the best hand I could get for my first semester of college." - 4 years ago

"People steal food from the fridge and the shower stall drainage was broken for a semester - no one came to fix it" - 4 years ago

EBI (E. Bronson Ingram College)
based on 1 review
"EBI was a great location to be on campus, in terms of classes or off-campus locations. It’s right next to West End Avenue, and is within 10-minute walking distance of most Taste of Nashville vendors. EBI also has a dining hall built into the building, so it was very convenient to get meals. However, when the dining hall is closed, you need to go somewhere else." - 1 year ago

Kissam
based on 9 reviews
"Hands down one of the best places to live on campus, especially if you manage to get one of the 4-, 5-, or 6-person suites since those are massive and a great place to host parties. The singles and doubles are also decently sized compared to the older dorm buildings. Both communal and private in-suite bathrooms are kept super clean and tidy.
There is Fresh Baked every Sunday evening, where the faculty advisor invites all residents up to his apartment for free baked goods. Having easy access to Kissam Center and a munchie mart is also a godsend. You also have card access to Moore College up til midnight every night so you can also use Moore’s common areas, study rooms, kitchens, etc.
Only pet peeve is that it can be a bit socially dead compared to the non-residential college dorms where most parties are held, though that can be a good thing if you’re looking for a more quiet place to live. It’s also a bit far from the Rec Center.
Still, it’s one of the most desirable places to live on campus. Unless you have a friend willing to pull you into their suite when someone else leaves, winning the upperclassmen housing lottery to get in here (or any other residential college) can be tough. Happy housing games and may the odds be ever in your favor!" - 4 years agoWe collected 9 dorm reviews for Kissam

Rothschild College
based on 1 review
"Rothschild College at Vanderbilt offers a convenient and comfortable living experience. It features a range of modern housing options, including singles, doubles, and suites, and a Munchie Mart for late-night snacking. The connected dining hall is highly regarded for its excellent menu options. While sharing a bathroom with other single occupants on the floor, the spacious rooms are sparkling clean. Overall, Rothschild College is an attractive option for students seeking a modern and convenient living experience." - 1 year ago

Zeppos (Nicholas S. Zeppos College)
based on 1 review
"Zeppos is one of the newest Residential Colleges that has singles, doubles, and 4-person suites. I lived in a double before which was really big and the suites are also pretty spacious, though they only have kitchenettes. Living next to frat row is a bit loud on the weekends sometimes, but the proximity to Centennial and Satay are worth it. The community here is great as well and Dr. Bowden is amazing!! The dining hall is only sandwiches, pasta, and flatbreads but Roth is pretty close by." - 1 year ago
