Is College Ten- Angela Davis the best dorm at UC Santa Cruz?

Overall, really great place to live. Most of the people who were living there when I was were CS and STEM people, so if you are on that you'd be pretty set to make friends. The staff is really good both in maintenance and dining facility. Just hope that you get a decent RA. There is no elevator and I was on the fourth floor which is pretty annoying but you get used to it. It is at the top of campus, so you will almost always be walking down to get to classes which is really nice. Really great place to live.

Pretty solid and standard dorm, you also get a table and a chair though the little mattress you're given is pretty thin and flimsy. No private bathrooms or kitchens or anything, and also no elevator though I gotta say the dining hall of the building is pretty great. Power outages really do suck but overall not a bad choice.

The dorm room itself was compact but comfortable. The furniture was functional, and the bed was comfortable enough for a good night's sleep. While there was not a lot of room for storage, I was able to make use of the closet and drawers provided. The communal living spaces, such as the lounge and study areas, were also well-maintained and provided a comfortable environment for us to socialize and relax.

Two big bathrooms with multiple stalls and showers on each floor. Stall locks are very secure but it is possible for people to peek through the small cracks on the side of the doors. No urinals. First floor has a private bathroom. Showers have a ceiling to floor curtain as well as a changing stall with a ceiling to floor curtain. Triple rooms offer 3 tables, 3 beds (two of which are upper bunk beds), 3 closets, 3 chairs. (Pro-tip: bring your own chair because the seats and backrests of each chair are made of wood and metal; very uncomfortable.) To unlock the door to enter the dorms, you need to present your UCSC student ID card to the electronic scanner at the door (only students that actually live in the dorm building can enter) and the physical key to open your dorm room. No kitchen, no private bathrooms, no elevators at the Angela Davis dorms. The Ohlone dorms have an elevator, however. Laundry buildings are located near the study room and next to the Ohlone dorm entrance. College 9/10 has one of the best dining halls at UCSC; many food options (normal, vegetarian, halal, kosher, etc.) and early morning to late-night hours. Located very close to college 10 dorms, only a 1 minute walk. Mailroom is located near the Soc Sci 1 or 2 building - forgot which - but its only a 2-3 minute walk from the dorms.
