Is North Halls the best dorm at Penn State?

I actually loved the area of North. The rooms were big, and it's close to many places like the Forum, arboretum, art museum, and library. There is also a cleaning staff that cleans the bathroom every month. However, as a freshman, it was a little hard meeting people on my floor because most of them were upperclassmen and North was overall pretty quiet.

Very quiet place with nice rooms. You can get a single room and bathroom for yourself if you want, or you could get a suite with another roommate (you both get your private bedroom and a shared bathroom). Air conditioning is a plus as well.

I lived in a suite and it was really nice, only thing is that some of the furniture was a little beat up. It still worked but sometimes a drawer would get stuck which would be annoying. The food at North is kind of underrated and even though it’s small, the food was is better than people make it out to be. The location on campus was great, it’s centrally located and doesn’t take long to walk anywhere. Only thing is that since North is pretty small and most of my friends were in other housing areas so get used to walking to them. North is known to be pretty quiet, and although this is true most of the time there are still a few times that it has gotten crazy. Also, the quiet was actually pretty nice during the weekdays when I needed to study and get work done.

I personally really enjoyed living here. Although it’s a very quiet area, I liked it and it was also close to a lot of locations like the Forum, Library, Arboretum, Palmer Museum... The rooms were pretty spacious and the furniture and bathroom were in good conditions. I only wish that the dining hall was bigger and had more variety of food.

Robinson hall is so underrated as a freshman!! Rooms have nice furniture and plenty of space for two people. Bathrooms are communal but they are individual bathrooms that are cleaned by staff. Ample amount of study space. Hanging out in the lounge on the first floor helps you meet a ton of people! By the end of the year you recognized who lived there. Felt like it’s own little community. North dining hall needs renovation but it’s super close to forum and other buildings you’ll most likely need to go to
