Is Pollock Halls the best dorm at Penn State?
Students rated Pollock Halls a 2.8/5 stars. Here's what they had to say.
Living in Pollock my freshman year was horrible. The building was old and the rooms were extremely cramped. There was a self that took up half my bed and made my twin bed even smaller. I'd also hit the bed at night occasionally and I would wake up with a massive headache. The bathrooms were disgusting and lived in on an all girls floor. It was absolutely horrific and I'd always avoid using the bathrooms when I could. The floor had no bonding activities and I didn't learn a single other person's name expect for my roommate. My RA didn't care about anything and was almost impossible to reach. My roommate's boyfriend moved into the room and was intimate with my roommate when I was in the room. The boyfriend was also creepy and I was afraid he might touch my during inappropriately during the night. My roommate also refused to clean up after herself and would throw trash on my side of the room. She also used horrible language to me. I bought this up with my RA and the pollock residence office and was dismissed. I was forced to live with this girl who was a monster and could not switch until the semester ended.
The location is awesome. Only a couple of minutes away from most places However the building was very old. The elevators were haunted. There was broken furniture everywhere... The bathrooms (on my floor) were relatively clean and the people on my floor wanted to keep things nice. Cleaners came in every morning so things weren’t a huge mess
Lived in Beaver. Rooms were kinda small. Bathroom was also a bit small as well. Overall pretty meh.
Very close to downtown so good to walk places. building is one of oldest, so not great quality inside or outside. communal bathrooms , people are friendly. dining hall is okay, close to testing center and most class buildings/hub.
Pollock is old to begin with so no special amenities you'd see in East - but location and facilities are okay. Lived in a single. My single room was super small with no AC/heat and built in furniture which only made the space feel smaller. Living in a bigger space with a roommate would've been a better deal for me.
