    CVC

    based on 2 reviews

"CVC is known for the shared suites. Each floor has a different amenities/hangout room (table tennis, kitchen, study room, etc). Each suite has 4 double bedrooms with 2 full bathrooms. Sometimes one of the doubles are turned into a triple so each suite has 8-9 people.

    Pros:
    - pretty clean (depending on your suitemates really)
    - forced to live with suitemates so easier to meet people
    - private bathroom shared between 4-5 people

    Cons:
    - no ethernet (although not sure if any building still has ethernet)
    - forced to live with suitemates so can get loud at times
    - your suite is responsible for cleaning your own bathrooms" - 1 year ago

    Joe West Hall

    based on 6 reviews

"Pros of living in joe west are that youā€™re right next to the dining common and mail room and thereā€™s a bigger sense of community on the floors. Cons are that there is no ac so it gets incredibly hot in the summers, elevators are always breaking, bathrooms are dirty and poorly maintained, whole bathroom need to be replaced itā€™s old and outdated and the sinks are always clogged and lots of water damage, people are constantly breaking the lobby doors to take a shortcut to the dining common so thereā€™s not much safety especially at night when they break it and itā€™s too late for maintenance, laundry rooms are terrible usually only 4 washing machines work and you share with the entire building and theyā€™re also really dirty and need to be replaced. Joe west has really bad accommodations and overall quality of living but at least thereā€™s a community feel on some floors which you donā€™t really get with other dorm buildings. " - 1 year ago

    Campus Village 2 (CV2)

    based on 9 reviews

"Honestly very glad I decided to dorm in CV2 my freshman year (2021-2022). Though it is the most expensive freshman dorm, I think everything that the building has to offer makes it worth it. I lived in a double and there was plenty of space for the both of us. The bathrooms were cleaned daily by the nice cleaning staff and each floor offers 2 lounges, 1 designated for studying. Thereā€™s also a kitchen and lounge/music room on the 1st floor. As for cons, from my experience, CV2 definitely has a ā€œhotel vibeā€, meaning I wouldnā€™t necessarily say that itā€™s very social. Also, elevators can get pretty crowded during common class times, so if you live on the lower floors, you should probably make adjustments accordingly. Other than that, CV2 was great to dorm in and Iā€™d recommend it for anyone looking to dorm at SJSU. " - 1 year ago
