Campus Village B (CVB) Reviews
San Jose State University
Reviews Summary
Campus Village B (CVB) provides an authentic college dormitory experience, offering a mix of benefits and potential drawbacks. While lacking particularly special rooms, many students appreciated the generous space in the single dorm rooms. However, community spaces, such as kitchens and bathrooms, occasionally garnered criticism for their size and lack of modern fixtures. Several reviews indicated that these areas, especially the bathrooms, might benefit from upgrading to comfortably accommodate multiple occupants. Despite this, CVB consists of a fantastic view of the campus or downtown, enhancing its overall character. The dormitory's location, about 5-10 minutes away from classes, was highlighted as a significant advantage by many residents. Amenities include a study lounge, laundry facilities, and a downstairs market, although access can be tricky and equipment malfunctions are not uncommon. Shared spaces, including apartments, are a positive aspect despite occasional furniture shortage, while the three available elevators often face heavy use during rush hours. Grading the dormitory's overall layout, user reviews often acknowledged the clever use of available space, with a decent balance between shared and private areas. However, areas like laundry facilities, kitchen space, and elevator access were frequently flagged as areas needing improvements in efficiency and reliability. Considering the residents' shared feedback, CVB offers a respectable student living experience, with potential for improvements to further enhance its appeal.

Rooms are ok, nothing special. Best part for me were the amenities and socializing with my friends. Food options are limited after the dining commons close, aside from sparcos and 7/11.
I lived in a triple at CVB, and I have both pros and cons of living there. While the rooms were very spacious, it was still a cramped space for three people to live in. The beds were nice and it took up most of the space. However, the bathrooms were unsatisfactory in my opinion, and definitely not fit to have 6-7 people living in them. Overall, the bedrooms did not take advantage of its space and the bathrooms need a upgrade. 3/5
Rooms usually have a nice view of campus or downtown life! The living room and kitchen are also fairly spacious and give homey vibes. However, a con is how long the elevators take, especially during rush hours.
Perfect location, building can be a bit outdated. The rooms are fairly spacious. They have a nice study lounge downstairs.
Living in an apartment with 4 single rooms has been nice! I like having my own room and privacy. The kitchen and bathroom are small and basic, but get the job done for most needs. The location is great since my classes are only a 5 minute walk away in the business building.
Pros: Bathrooms are fairly decent and clean as far as I've seen. Cons: Elevator can take awhile during rush hour, room isn't that spacious.
Great location, only takes me 5-10 minutes to get to class. However, junior double is a very tiny room to be sharing wouldn’t recommend.
Overall, this is a great building. There are individual apartments, and the common area is pretty good, though a bit sparse in terms of furniture. While kitchen appliances are not modern, they function good enough for most people's comfort. There are three elevators on both sides of the building, so usually it is pretty easy to get up and down. There is pool, several conference rooms, and mailroom downstairs. Laundry room is inside. Village market is also downstairs, but you have to leave the building to get in.
Pros include having a kitchen and bathroom that you’re sharing with only 3-5 people. Cons include having to walk 10-15 mins across campus if classes are on the other side.
Pros: 10-15 minute walk to get anywhere on campus, shared common area, kitchen, and bathroom for 4-8 people. Cons: Difficult to access maintenance when things break, small windows for first floor apartments
