AMR II
Rated 3.7 / 5 stars by 3 JHU students
"Ok don't judge the dorm based on the ratings (which are just a judge of how nice the dorm is). AMR II isn't the nicest dorm (probably one of the worst in terms of luxury/amenities), but it's the most social, and if you're looking to make a lot of friends freshman year, look for AMR II/AMR I. These two dorms are hallway style, communal bathrooms, and because of the style people make friends really easily and can get to know a lot of people. 3am impromptu hallway talking vibes, doors always unlocked, friends with half of the dorm kinda deal."

"Pros - dorm style is conducive to socializing in the common rooms Cons - worst of all second year housing choices. Still have roommates and no singles"

"This dorm has the best location (close to classes, the gym, and food), a lot of space (especially if you arrange things to maximize space), and enough quiet if you’re someone like me who likes their privacy. It’s not as social as the other AMRs, but the nice bathroom and the other pros are worth it. Besides, there are plenty of other places to socialize. Other than this con, I can’t think of anything else that goes against this dorm."

"Loved how close it was to Nolan’s. Everything was great except some messy suitemates and one of the two elevators constantly breaking on the West side. Downstairs also has small workout area with treadmills and stuff and the mailrooms. Plus suites have kitchenettes which are useful with a full size kitchen available downstairs."

"In my opinion, this is the best living situation on the JHU campus. The only downside would be the less than average size of the rooms, but that is something that I’m willing to live with. Commons is known to be a newer and cleaner dorm on campus. Nolan’s Cafe is an elevator ride away. The building has a small gym area. The building is in close proximity to several lecture halls and restaurants. Lots of study spaces are in the building, even better than the ones in the library in my opinion. There is also a JHMI stop right in front of the main entrance. Several rooms in the building have great views of campus. Living here has added many great memories to my college experience, and I’m very disappointed that COVID-19 cut that experience short."
