Ranking the Dorms at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute

The most standard of dorms possible. It’s not glamorous and its not fancy, but I never had an issue living there. - 4 years ago

Freshman Hill monolith. It was pretty clean and new when I got there!

Bathroom options included shared among your wing and private en-suite, shared with the room next door.
I had an en suite bathroom, though I heard the shared one wasn't so bad. - 4 years ago

I loved living in Quad my sophomore year and throughout Arch. It feels like a Hogwarts-esque common and the proximity to campus is a huge plus. I highly recommend living here if you want that "college dorm" vibe. Depending on your location, you'll even get a great view of the trees instead of traffic. If you can't get into Church VI, get any of the Church buildings.The rooms are pretty small, however, and Quad is notorious for the outrageous number of fire alarms throughout the year. Warren is spilt in half with a wall that acts as a 2 closets on one side and a peg board on the other. It feels like 2 singles and the in-room bathroom is really convenient. the room is larger than double rooms in bray, cary, etc. but the wall in the middle doesn’t really make it feel like that. the room is great day to day but it’s not great for having friends over. the lounge isn’t great but there are other places to study. the biggest downside is no ac.
