"Stangel was a good dorm because of location and the dining hall the “market”. You get 50% off at the market so meals are cheap! However, the communal bathrooms are shit (the cleaning staff were always so sweet and inviting so that was a plus). The room is small as shit and dark as shit. You have to be friendly and nice to your roommate because the only time you won’t see them face to face in the room is if you’re at your desk or in your closet. Stangel was a decent freshmen dorm. The laundry room is the worst thing ever, it’s 6 washers and 6 dryers for an entire 7 floors of people."

"If you want to know what is like to not have parking, heating (despite record lows), electricity, or bathrooms cleaned once a day, you will absolutely love living here. The bathrooms are consistently disgusting. So bad, I don't think I can describe it online. We came back from winter break to a lack of heat and then essentially blackouts throughout the dorm rooms on the first two days of school. Good luck if you had an early class! Because your alarms won't be functional and your phone won't be charged. You might pay an extra fee for being able to park on campus, but they don't care. If you dare to leave at any point during the week, good luck finding 'free' parking. Oh and my favorite, when the heat is working, they won't turn it on until the temperature drops below 32 degrees. Not out of worry for the students, how silly you would consider that. No, they do it so the pipes don't burst. Yet even that happens pretty consistently. I feel sorry for any incoming freshman condemned to living here for a year. Good luck."

"Chitwood is simultaneously the worst and the best dorm to stay in. The ammedities itself aren’t nearly as good as a dorm like Talkington but Chitwood makes up for it solely for the experience. Between Chitwood, Weymouth and Coleman (all freshman dorms that are right next to each other) it feels like your entire freshman class lives in one place. It’s the place where you’ll get to meet the most people and have the best time. I’d honestly recommend Chitwood to any incoming freshman"

"Pros - Close to Rec and other important parts of campus, big windows for good natural light and good views from higher floors, pretty basic size of room for what you would expect from a basic college dorm room. Really easy to make friends as hundreds of kids live in the same building. Cons - Community bathrooms are gross but bearable (outside of a few days a semester when they are extremely gross). No privacy at all from your roommate. Far from the engineering key and football stadium. Overall a pretty basic college dorm. "

"In terms of actual dorm room this place is perfect. Hardwood floors, ceiling fan, a thermostat, everything you could need. In addition, there is a private bathroom along with the communal bathrooms which is so nice. The only issue I found was the location of the dorm. Being in the corner of campus, most classes are a bit of a walk. Along with this, the only food place near Honors that isn't extremely expensive is Sam's Place Murray, which is the worst food establishment ever created. You will have to walk 5-10 minutes multiple time a day for the Market in Murdough unless you want to cough and arm and a leg for Starbucks and Chick-fil-a. "
