"A double room was nice, decent furniture considering it's an older dorm. Location was good, roughly centered between the other dorms and not too far from the Dining Commons. Hall walls are painted concrete block, as are the room walls, and some are exposed red brick. Decent place to live while going to school; I was there for 3 years before moving to the University Village apartments. Making friends there was easy and probably the best part of being in school. AC wasn't the best but it usually worked. Will largely depend on the maintenance leadership and whether they get needed funds to keep things clean and running. Bathrooms were functional but often dirty, usually the student's fault as the maintenance staff tried to keep up. I'd definitely avoid a triple room in the older Residence Halls if you can help it. There is, of course, a lot of political silliness propaganda that the Housing leadership disseminates, but that's everywhere in college currently. "

"The Encinitas hall had every basic necessity on the first floor such as a laundry room, kitchen, and study room. However, the building itself is very outdated because it's made of bricks. Encinitas itself is nothing special, but it got the job done. I fortunately got a double, and it was enough space for two people but it is doomed if you get a triple."

"The village is for second years and older. This phase includes four singles. As soon as you enter the apartment, you see the living room connected to the kitchen, and one hall where all four rooms are located. The benefit with the village is no mandatory meal plan, but the con with that is completely independent meal planning and prepping, The first room is the largest (almost 1.5 x larger than all the other rooms), given the option I would recommend that room first. The other rooms are smaller, all have windows and centralized air vents for cooling and heating. Also, the apartment comes furnished with a bed frame, adequate closet space, a dresser, a desk, and a bookshelf. The apartment itself comes with a laundry room that you can use for free, a rec center, a basketball court, and a swimming pool. The location of the apartment is unbeatable, just a street away from campus. The price for one single is on the relatively higher side in comparison to the off-campus houses and apartments available, but I like to think it's for the convenience of being so close to campus. I hope you never have to deal with the Village administration because they are quite rude, overbearing, disrespectful, and lethargic. The area is not the safest, but most college campuses run with that risk. "

"University Village is right outside the main campus of Cal Poly Pomona. It is a short 15-20min walk to get to the majority of classes. The Phase 3 apartments in University Village offer single-room options at a very affordable price compared to the suites. The room itself is spacious and provides a relatively clean environment. However, as the building is old, there are sometimes problems with roaches. While living in the Village, the amenities offered are free printing and complimentary laundry for $1000 per month."

"Secoya is a newly built dorm to live in as it is primarily designed to be one out of the two dorm buildings in the area for incoming freshman. The amenities include a communal kitchen on the ground floor with a laundry area. Included within each floor are two lounges and two study rooms. They are plenty of places for you to meet new people and hang out. Definitely one of the better dorms on campus."
