"I was fortunate enough to spend my sophomore and senior years living at the Honors Village. The entire experience, including the warmth shown by Ra and the front desk personnel, was excellent for my sophomore year. But in the spring of 2024, the RAs—and particularly the front desk staff—were worthless.
1. Because the front desk failed to notify their supervisor that my login was not functioning, I was unable to access my mail hub for two months. The comment "She is very busy and she's an undergrad student" was always given when someone asked to speak with their boss directly.
2. Even though the ice maker has been broken for a year, the cafeteria lady won't allow you use it because, in her words, "it's not a part of the dorm."
3. Despite reporting the issue to the front desk, who stated they would speak with the repair man but never did, the TVs remain inoperative on the majority of the floors.
4. Due to a malfunctioning garbage opening, the fifth-floor trash area has an awful odor. Therefore, people simply discard their rubbish on the ground.
5. Literally, the study rooms are never clean. The cleaning lady enters, changes the garbage, and then departs. The floor was filthy, and there was debris everywhere. I once watched a cleaner simply sit there for a few minutes before leaving without doing any cleaning.
6. Make sure you are nearby to receive your meal if it is delivered, or else someone else might eat it.
7. The water dispenser is never working. On the first and second floors, as usual.
In general, I do not support anyone staying here. Neither the employees nor the "amenities" on hand seem to be commensurate with your payment amount. More than $5,000 in rent, yet not a single item is functional or clean. Consider staying someplace else.
