Honors Village Reviews

University of Arizona

Reviews Summary

Honors Village offers a mixed experience for residents, with both positive and negative aspects. Many students appreciated the spacious rooms, private bathrooms, and convenient amenities like study rooms, rec rooms, and air conditioning. Some found the new building attractive and well-maintained, with good security that required cards to use the elevator. However, there are notable drawbacks. The dorm is located 0.5 miles from the main campus, which can be inconvenient for some. Additionally, several students reported issues with broken amenities such as ice makers, water dispensers, and TVs. Cleanliness and maintenance were inconsistent, with mentions of unclean study rooms and a bad odor from a malfunctioning trash area. Though some students praised the prompt maintenance service, others criticized the staff for being unhelpful and unresponsive. Despite the dining hall's mixed reviews, the Village is home to the only dining facility on campus. Overall, the experience varies widely, with some students loving it and others recommending seeking alternatives.

I was fortunate enough to spend my sophomore and senior years living at the Honors Village. The entire experience, including the warmth shown by Ra and the front desk personnel, was excellent for my sophomore year. But in the spring of 2024, the RAs—and particularly the front desk staff—were worthless.

1. Because the front desk failed to notify their supervisor that my login was not functioning, I was unable to access my mail hub for two months. The comment "She is very busy and she's an undergrad student" was always given when someone asked to speak with their boss directly.

2. Even though the ice maker has been broken for a year, the cafeteria lady won't allow you use it because, in her words, "it's not a part of the dorm."

Had a great experience there. Fast maintenance (I had someone come in less than 15 mins) and convenient amenities.

I loved living at the honors village. The only potentially negative was the walk to the main part of campus but I didn’t mind it

Lots of quality amenities in the Village itself. Study rooms, rec rooms, and lounges are all pretty good. 85 North is fine, not the worst but not good either. Mattresses are a bit stiff but easily solved with a cheap mattress topper from Walmart. Photos of single suite attached.

Honors village is good but it’s 0.5 miles away from everything else on campus. However, you don’t have communal bathrooms, you get a bigger room than typical dorms, and you have a dining hall and classrooms in the honors village.

Super nice dorm, expensive however. I loved the amenities there, and it’s a new building. It’s close to the rec and the only dining hall on campus, which gets a bad rep but it’s actually pretty good. Bathroom is massive and the actual room layout is weird but practical. Tons of storage. The dorms itself are a little far from actual campus but you definitely get used to the walk after a couple weeks.

Personal huge bathroom. Own ac and heating. Massive window. Mega thin walls. Decent security for the building. Need card to ride elevator, but rarely do people check.
