    Roncalli

"Roncalli is the most convenient building to get to your classes and McElroy dining hall, but that’s about it for its positives. The room was significantly smaller than my double on Newton campus. I could not position my dresser, bed, and desk in a way that I could easily access the drawers to both the dresser and desk. The dresser is a full dresser and does not fit under the bed. There is no A/C in the dorm, and the window only opens by sliding to one side (so only one roommate gets a breeze). The ledge is barely wide enough to fit a box fan, and ours fell multiple times due to this. There are floating shelves above only one of the beds. There is an elevator, but it is absurdly slow and not handicap accessible (must take a few steps to get to it). The lounge downstairs is air conditioned and fairly new/renovated. The laundry room was adequate but frequently had multiple broken machines despite everyone putting in constant work orders. There is nowhere for guests to park temporarily nearby; the closest is parking illegally at McElroy dining hall, but you are risking a ticket/tow." See all 2 reviews

    66 Commonwealth Avenue

    based on 2 reviews

"My roommates and I were good friends from freshman year, so the triple was bearable. Though, it oftentimes came at the expense of privacy. Also, as 66 is the dorm for honors students, there were quite a few characters on my flow. Consider the lounges to be the battlegrounds for the wannabe intelligentsia of the building. That said, the location is solid, giving easy access to the B line, the neighboring lunch/dinner spots, lower, and middle campus. It also was an ok distance from Brighton campus, which has quite a few study spots." See all 2 reviews

    Vanderslice

"Vandy is beautiful- great location, A/C, 8 mans, nice rooms, tall ceilings etc. BUT I think it is severely overrated. All the fun things happen in Walsh which gets annoying to walk to especially in the winter. The hallways always seem empty. The slowest elevator to ever exist. A/C turns off in October (so if you're wack like me and like your room to be cold in the winter you'll need a fan). Yes, Walsh is old, but they renovated the study rooms on the seventh and eighth floors and added fast elevators (I know these seem like trivial things but when you have to deal with them everyday its a really big deal). In retrospect, we had a good enough pick time to be on one of the higher floors of Vandy which means we could've chosen pretty much any room in Walsh. I wish we had." See all 3 reviews

    Ninety St. Thomas More

100% of student reviewers lived here when they were a sophomores

    based on 5 reviews

"Across from Lower Dining, close to bus stop, and pretty manageable to get to classes in comparison to Upper as a freshman. Imo best Sophomore housing. Only cons is the slow elevator but I lived on the 2nd floor where I could take the exterior stairs to my room so it wasn’t bad for me." See all 5 reviews

    Walsh

"Room was pretty big for a double and the study rooms were very nice. But the room had no air conditioning (which in the humid New England heat was awful) and Walsh is a 15 minute walk from classes, and a 20 minute walk from most of the other dorms. My roommate selection was bad; my roommate smoked so much marijuana that the room reeked of pot and I had to clean up after him. He and his friends played video games all day and night, and when I asked him to accommodate my schedule he blew me off. Sometimes I had to sleep in the study rooms because my roommate and his friends were in the room playing games at midnight. Eventually I moved out and I'm glad I did" See all 6 reviews
