It was such work to get to Darnall and from Darnall. Literally, walking from Darnall to the gym was already a workout. I sent a request to fix 2 of the 5 showers in the men's room and it took an entire semester. If you want anything fixed ASAP, have your parents call/complain, it makes them do it quicker. Rooms do not have private bathrooms and there is construction of the new hospital wing for the foreseeable future so and it is next to Darnall. XD

Darnall is notoriously the worst freshman dorm to live in location-wise. The path to the dorm is filled with roaches during the warmer months, and rats year-round. However, I wouldn't change my freshman dorm for anything. I met most of my best friends on my floor, the people who were there for me when I needed someone. Darnall has the best community, hands-down. If that's what you value over a private bathroom, apply to the Explore DC LLC! It's on the third floor and I loved being in it. Also, you live on-top of Epi's, a delicious 24-hour restaurant that accepts flex dollars! It's a HUGE plus.

The bathrooms were DISGUSTING! However, I’m so glad I lived in Darnall because I became close with a lot of the people on my floor. The common rooms are very nice and a lot of people hang out in there. The Dirty D isn’t as bad as most people say.
