519 is a really nice, bright brownstone with very large rooms. The bathrooms are clean, and it is a quiet space to live. Con is ho far from classes/West/Allston it is. I have gotten used to it, but an MBTA pass has been necessary for me. Nice that the BU Bus stops right outside of the dorm though! Easy to get on, but you can't take it back unless you want to go from the med campus, so get used to walking back to the dorm at night haha.
Rooms are really big so thats very nice. Only con is the distance to classes from the dorm.
I lived in 517-521 Beacon St. on the 3rd floor. My room faced Beacon St, which had nice views of the brownstones across and even the Citgo sign. The double was very huge, especially once I rearranged the furniture to optimize an open space. There’s a full bathroom on each floor, which was always kept clean. Catching the shuttle was super easy since the bus stop at Danielsen was right across. And the walk to Bay State dining hall and East campus was doable. Living here was great because I felt like I lived off campus since it was right off Mass Ave. and Newbury St. was literally a 5 minute walk away. The only downside would be the flights of stairs you have to deal with during moving day and getting your mail (letters in Danielsen & packages...
