Ranking the Dorms at University of South Florida

Good dorm with a quiet out-of-the-way location without being too far from everything. Some of the quality can be improved though, as it is clearly aging. - 4 years ago

The rooms are incredibly small. The bathrooms were always vaguely gross (my floormates were disgusting) but they were cleaned daily! (Loved the janitor super sweet lady)
Perfect location near the center of campus and it was super easy to make friends there. If you end up here don’t worry its not the worst and I don’t regret living there but just know it won’t be the, highest quality of living - 4 years ago

This hall is a mix of traditional and suit dorms. So I had traditional which means I shared a bathroom with the floor. - 4 years ago

Looks nice because it’s brand new but it’s a pretty terribly built form building. My roommate and I had a corner room, which was supposed to be bigger than other rooms in the hall. However, the room was built very weird so no good use of the space could be made. The AC was constantly broken and either blowing extremely cold air or not blowing anything at all. There were cracks on the ceiling (suggesting foundational issues I think) and the shower water pressure wasn’t very good. Water pressure in general wasn’t the best I had experienced, but tended to be better in the communal dining area thing on each floor (where there was a sink, counter space, and a microwave). This building also only had 1 kitchen for residents of the entire building. The laundry room was small, and didn’t accept student cards for a large part of the year. The elevator broke multiple times too, or just fell with students inside. It was located pretty centrally to the Marshall Student Center, a fitness center, and the library, but location didn’t compensate for its other failures. I lived in JP my first year and would recommend that over Endeavor any day, even if it’s an older building. Endeavor is too expensive for the quality it offers. - 4 years ago

Everything except having to share a room was great! I would avoid the dining hall food though - 4 years ago

The common area was great for making friends and socializing. Also nice having both a dining hall and kitchen in the building. - 4 years ago

This dorm was pretty big compared to other dorms I have seen. It was a suite where there is 2 rooms per suite, 2 people in each room and 2 bathrooms to share between the 4 people. One bathroom was just a shower and one bathroom was just a toilet and sink. Both bathrooms were fine, nothing fancy but much much better than a communal bathroom. I felt there was plenty of space for both me and my roommate in our dorm. The location was okay, it was a further away from classes than I would have liked but I had a bike so it wasn't awful. The dining haul (The Hub) was close-ish. There was a large window in the dorm and it was nice. Overall, I would recommend this to my friends. - 4 years ago

I loved Beacon. It was close distance to Publix and my room had a really nice view. The room size is also really nice. However, if you’re looking for a single dorm you more than likely won’t find it here. If you like you’re roommate though it should be great! - 4 years ago

I love my Pinnacle dorm. It’s a single so I’m in there by myself but it’s the size of a double dorm so I have a bunch of space. I love that it’s just me so I have my peace and quiet. - 4 years ago
