De Neve Gardenia
based on 2 reviews
Deluxe Double configuration. Lots of space to move desk and bed around.
Is a quiet location that many students don’t know it’s location. It can get very loud since my room faces Gayley Ave, where there is a frat across the street that throws every Thursday. They also blast music loudly anytime they play basketball outside (very often). My AC went out so I have to open the windows for cool air which means I have to listen to their music which can get annoying when trying to study.
Another con to this is that many partygoers will end up in a bathroom somewhere in Gardenia, throwing up or rushers washing off the nastiest scent after a hazing.
There is lots of light, for any room facing gayley ave, there will be a lot of sunlight unless you have a tree in the front. If you have a room facing Holly or Saxon, you don’t get that much sunlight.
Another con is that there is always traffic on Gayley Ave, so you will hear cars, loud exhausts, buses, ambulances, etc.
a big pro is that if you’re walking up the hill from Westwood, this dorm is easier to access than the rest of the hill, you don’t have to walk up too much compared to other dorms. - 2 years agoWe collected 2 dorm reviews for De Neve Gardenia

De Neve Holly
based on 3 reviews
Holly overall is a pretty good place to live. The view from my room is great and the deluxe double provides more than enough space for both parties living in the dorm. Floors are also super social and a great place to meet people. - 1 year ago

Olympic Hall
based on 9 reviews
pretty great if you are a freshman and it’s your first forming experience because it is very new and very clean! my only issues is that there was a period where the laundry machines were all broken (it’s fixed now i believe) and that it is pretty far up the hill in comparison to other deluxe halls like sproul landing, so if you have the choice as a second year, i would go for landing over olympic purely for a better location. - 2 years ago

Palo Verde
based on 1 review
Palo Verde was finished being built this past year in 2022 and it is one of the three new buildings in the Soutwest Apartment complexes alongside Laurel and Tipuana.
General info:
Room arangements: 4 bedroom / 8 person / 2 bath
Currently it's housing mostly for transfer students as of the 2022-2023 year but that may change in the future.
Pros:
-The outside of the apartments and patio areas are very new and genuinely very beautiful. There's grills for events, plenty of seating, and lighting all throughout the night
-Plenty of restaurants and stores around
-Lots of events nearby including: movie premieres near the Fox Theatre, weekly Farmer's Market, monthly school event called "First Thursday" with music, activities, food etc.
-Next to Target, Whole Foods, Ralphs, and Trader Joes
-Study lounges downstairs that are very comfortable and convenient
Cons:
-Currently because it's considered off campus housing there are no meal plans offered - may change in the future if UCLA decides to give meal plans again
-Roughly 20 minute walk to campus(there is a bus to get to school everyday)
-8 people in one apartment can be a lot
-Very hard to find parking nearby which means either driving around a long time to find something or getting a parking permit which is a few hundred dollars each quarter and you must park on campus

Saxon Suites
based on 7 reviews
Saxon Suites have two bedrooms, living room, private bathroom and shower. It was nice having a living room because you can work there and have friends over for movies and parties. I lived with 3 others so it was really relaxed we always had enough space and it was comfortable. I wish the sinks were bigger because they are really low and it can be annoying to use. I also kind of didn’t like the arrangement of my room one closet was so close to the desk that you have to squeeze to get by and the other closet is close to the door so if someone is using the closet the other can’t go out. So that was a con but otherwise i’d recommend! - 2 years agoWe collected 7 dorm reviews for Saxon Suites

Rieber Terrace
based on 6 reviews
I live in a corner room and it is so spacious! It's usually reserved for people with special accommodations but since it was free, we were lucky to be assigned to it. I live in a plaza triple and we have a lot of space and a private bathroom. Rieber Terrace's location is also very convenient -- we are close to Rende, the Study, and a short walk to everything else. One complaint about this building, however, would be that the elevators break quite often. This is tough for people who live on higher floors and often have to climb the stairs to their rooms... - 2 years ago

De Neve Plaza
based on 13 reviews
Lived in Dogwood with two other roommates and I thought it was pretty nice. We had our own bathroom which was great, and it was actually pretty spacious considering how small the room seems. The closets were also pretty large. Only problem is that we were lacking sunlight with where our room was situated, and the laundry situation was always really annoying because some machines weren’t great and there’s only a few to accommodate for the whole building. There are lounges on every floor which are really nice to work / hang out in, and De Neve is the closest to campus so it’s very convenient. Overall, I really enjoyed living here. - 2 years ago

Holly Ridge
based on 1 review
I stayed in Gardenia and it was overall a pretty nice experience. The rooms are big, even for three people. The AC is a little funky (you can't set a temp, only colder or not) but still works well. The bathrooms are communal and there were some issues with flooding of the showers on my floor. It's kinda far away from food though, as you have to walk to either the main De Neve Plaza or BCafe/Cafe 1919. There aren't many laundry machines, so you have to be proactive about putting your laundry in during the week. - 4 years ago

Cove and Landing
based on 16 reviews
love living in cove. everything here is applicable to landing cuz theyre practically the same. location is absolutely phenomenal bc of its convenience - not so far up the hill, in the middle of dining halls etc. i know so many people who would love to live here because of not only the location but also bc its one of the newer (not newest) buildings on the hill + some of the rooms have a rlly nice view. all the rooms r deluxes so theres ac/heating and its bigger than a classic. bathrooms r nice but also depend on the people on ur floor like every communal system. downside is laundry!!!! laundry is so horrible bc everything is broken but i know that housing is switching out the washers/dryers so hopefully future generations have it better - 2 years ago

Gayley Heights
based on 4 reviews
Gayley is fairly new so the rooms and the building itself is in a very good condition. I stayed here during my covid isolation for about a little over two weeks. Pros: Clean, rooms have good natural lighting, good air conditioning, and good storage space for the kitchen and good living room space and furniture. Good safety and security.
