Ranking the Dorms at Northwestern University

Location is pretty solid, but the bathrooms are absolutely disgusting, it smelled like rotting garbage for a solid month with nothing being done about it, and the basement was haunted. All in all, perfect freshman dorm - 2 years ago

Pretty decent dorm overall. Not too bad not too good. If you get one of the bigger singles, you are one of the lucky ones. Good thing is it's pretty small. So not a lot of people you are sharing your bathroom with. But as it's an old frat house, the building is bad and bathrooms are not very nice. - 1 year ago

Allison is one of the better dorms I've lived in. Rooms are decently updated. Right next to the south gym (minute walk), closer to all the food spots down south in Evanston, and the two dining halls underneath are great - best school food options by far at NU. Communal washer and dryer unfortunately but wasn't too big a problem especially if you wash your clothes at night. My favorite dorm, can't go wrong. - 1 year ago

The bathroom was never cleaned. The walls very thin. The air vents made it so when one person was smoking, the whole floor could smell it. - 4 years ago

One of the best south area dorms. Bathrooms are literally like a hotel. There's study spaces in the basement and the famous egg chairs. If you're looking for a party-vibe though this is not the dorm for you, it's a more wholesome vibe. - 3 years ago

Willard is the best dorm tbh. Very clean, nice rooms, Fran’s downstairs, and located very close to downtown. Only thing is it’s kinda far from North campus stuff but it’s not that bad. Can get to Tech in 15 mins. Would recommend living here especially if you’re mostly taking humanities classes. - 1 year ago
