Northwestern University Freshman Dorms Ranked

Ranking the best sophomore dorms at Northwestern University, according to students.

  • Number 5

    Allison Hall

    based on 2 reviews

"Allison is usually grouped with the good dorms on campus and not without reason. The rooms are big, probably the biggest on campus. The dorm is the central one for South Area so it’s right over the dining hall which is very convenient. The worst part of allison is by far the bathroom situation. It’s a relatively new dorm so I don’t know if they just skimped on making quality plumbing but the bathrooms break in some way every week in the winter. When I was living there, our floor toilets ran backwards 4+ times during winter quarter. The pipes also burst twice. It’s a really annoying inconvenience so keep that in mind. Otherwise, I’m not a fan of carpet in the rooms but that’s kind of personal preference. When the bathrooms are working they’re perfectly fine. " - 2 years ago

    2307 Sheridan

    based on 1 review

"Pretty decent dorm overall. Not too bad not too good. If you get one of the bigger singles, you are one of the lucky ones. Good thing is it's pretty small. So not a lot of people you are sharing your bathroom with. But as it's an old frat house, the building is bad and bathrooms are not very nice. " - 1 year ago

    Schapiro Hall

    based on 3 reviews

"Nicknamed the “hotel on campus”, literally everything about this dorm is perfect. It’s by far the best dorm on campus in terms of cleanliness and amenities. The whole building is suite style so only 4 people per bathroom." - 1 year ago

    Elder

    based on 2 reviews

"If you are a stem student, this location is perfect. Rooms are usually spacious enough but some look on the parking lot so they don't have that great of a view. Bathrooms are trash especially during the weekend. The best part is that elder has its own dinning hall so it spares you effort when you don't feel like changing out of pyjamas to get food, although i must say elder dinning hall food is very average. Their tacos bar however is really good but only available certain hours of the day Monday to Friday. Overall, my experience was good except for the bathrooms. " - 2 years ago

    Bobb-McCulloch Hall

    based on 2 reviews

"The location is good if you’re a STEM/engineer student and you’re right next to the gym, dining hall, library so that’s convenient. But the facilities and bathrooms are outdated and not the cleanest and the rooms aren’t the biggest. I would only recommend this dorm if you really care about partying because it can get loud on the weekends. Overall, one of the worst dorms on campus. " - 2 years ago
