Is 301 Residence Hall the best dorm at The New School?
Students rated 301 Residence Hall a 4.8/5 stars. Here's what they had to say.
The dorms are new, and because of that the rooms and amenities are extremely clean. All internal appliances work great, such as hot water, kitchen appliances, heat, etc. Each dorm consists of a suite of either 4, 5, or 6 people, and have a shared bathroom (2 bathrooms in room of 6). Each room has its own control from heat and AC. The bathroom consists of a standing shower, toilet, sink, and storage mirror. The kitchen consists of a microwave, full sized fridge, and a stove. The rooms are not too spacious, but not necessarily small for NYC. Each floor has a lounge that is accessible to anyone in the building. The bottom two levels consist of a cafe, laundry room (free), gym, bike storage, art studio, mailroom, and private practice rooms. The security is overall very nice and helpful, but a few are just generally rude. The maintenance staff is efficient and responds to work orders fairly quickly. The dorm, since being so new, has no plans in place for when anything goes wrong, and expect things to go wrong. But other than the occasional issues this dorm is a comfortable space and definitely a more luxurious dorm.
