Is Craven Quad the best dorm at Duke?
Students rated Craven Quad a 3.5/5 stars. Here's what they had to say.
Craven is really nice for an older dorm and is one of the most recently updated dorms on campus. The main issue with Craven is how the building is made. You have to walk outside to get to laundry, vending, and printing. It's an absolute pain. It's close to food, but it's not the closest, especially if you live on the back end of Craven. I've lived in two Craven rooms so far and they have both been pretty nice on the inside. My first one had two windows and was really long. My second had one window and was really short, but still had enough room for me. Also, sound travels like crazy. The doors to get inside the building are terribly heavy and can wake you out of your sleep sometimes. The room doors also have huge gaps underneath so you can hear everything and sound also comes through the vents. However, you may get used to it overtime.
My room had two windows, so my roommate and I both got one and I got to fill mine w a couple plants :) in terms of laundry tho, I lived in Sherwood, and the laundry was back in the corner of the Craven quad, off the main quad. Had to walk OUTSIDE to get there. Literally no way to get there otherwise. Rain, shine, cold ass winter, don’t matter if you need to get your laundry done.
