Is Palo Verde West the best dorm at ASU?
Students rated Palo Verde West a 2/5 stars. Here's what they had to say.
PROS: It was conveniently located near most of my classes at ASU, and next to the bus station/lightrail. Lots of restaurants within walking distance. Small gym that you can utilize if you don't feel like walking all the way to the ASU gym. There's a community room on every floor so you can hang out with friends, watch TV, or cook dinner on an actual stove. There's a tutoring center in the lobby of the dorm. CONS: Old, outdated dorms. Elevators often out of service (horrible when it's 110+ degrees outside and you live on the 6th floor). Rooms have a weird moldy smell and windows cannot open to get fresh air in them. Walls are super thin and you can hear everything. Bathrooms are very small and outdated. Closet space is decent, but it's one closet split between two people. Not enough washers and dryers to serve the amount of students on each floor. There was 2 washers and 2 dryers and there was a lot of students. (washers and dryers were also often out of service on my floor and we had to use a different floor). Wi-fi was very finicky and unreliable. Overall, the dorm itself is old and outdated; it's not the WORST but for the price you're paying to live there, you can afford something so much better on and off campus.
