"It’s a dump. Avoid it at all costs. I just moved my freshman into this dorm. Air conditioning not working, they have portable units going. The room is FILTHY, pretty sure it was never cleaned after the last move out. "

"The management of the community directors and CA’s is actually the worst thing I’ve ever seen. I would rather pay a little extra to live alone off campus. Like no way I’m paying 10k for them to treat me like this. ASU claims they’re gonna give freshman a great experience but university housing has made me want to drop out THATS how bad it is. University housing is so terrible I have almost called the suicide hotline multiple times because they’re just so terrible to students. If it’s in your budget I’d recommend living off campus either alone or with a friend, a good way to save 10k."

"A typical cinder block dorm. It’s one of the oldest on campus and has shared bathrooms. It’s very conveniently located if you are business student and is right near the gym as well. The bathrooms keep having problems as they are shared and old. A bed, desk, chair, armoire, bookshelf, and dresser are provided. It’s not a bad dorm on its own but compared to the newer dorms on campus it definitely feels lacking."

"The room is a nice size and it has a enough space for you to add things like a mini-fridge and a microwave, even a shelf if you needed one. You do tend to topple over your room mate from time to time as the sink is shared and that you and your roommate essentially share the same closet. Regarding the bathroom, you share it with three other people; your roommate and another pair of suitemates. The shower is super small and there isn't anything to hold on. So don't expect to take a bath. The toilet area is a literal stall and is actually bigger than the shower. I don't know if its mold but that bathroom always smells weird no many how much you clean it. Make sure you communicate with your suitemates about chores and also being courteous. Sometimes living with three other girls can get a little hectic, especially when everyone has long hair. The dining hall is literally a couple of feet away along with the pod market. Whatever you need there store is pretty much open. Tooker Hall, Maz and Verde are all in the same complex so if you have any friends that stay in those dorms they're literally a walk away. Overall, San Pablo is a pretty good place to stay if you want a more calm area."

"PROS: This place is more of an apartment than it is a dorm, but it is offered by the university. The bedrooms are very spacious with plenty of room to feel cozy. The fact that a whole queen sized bed fits with ample walking room is self-explanatory. The mattress on the bed is extremely soft and comfy, though it is an odd size as some bed sheets might be hard to fit on it. The bathroom is functional and definitely suitable for anyone as you typically get a private bathroom per bedroom. In the shared space per room, there is a living room-esque area with couches and some shelves. There is a fully-furnished kitchen, including a full stove and fridge, which makes cooking possible. The location of the building is right next to campus, a lightrail stop, and Paseo Del Saber, which has some restaurants and shops. There is a laundry machine and dryer included that is shared with your roommates. Note that the laundry machine is noticeable bigger than the dryer. The building has it's own internet with both WiFi and ethernet ports available. WiFi can expect around 250mbps. On ethernet, expect 700-900 mbps. There are many outlets available in each room, so don't buy too many power strips and surge protectors. You have access to the Vista Del Sol community center, which includes a pool, pool table, a gym, and a few more utilities. There is a separate mailroom from the rest of the campus, so you don't have to go to the UPS store next to Hassy to get packages. For the first month, you would need to wait 45 minutes to get into the UPS store whereas it would typically be at most 2 minutes at the Vista mailroom. CONS: In general, the building and rooms feel quite old. The walls are quite thin as well, so you can easily hear your neighbors and the outside. The Fitness Center is right across the street and starting at 6am, they will start playing music from the pool on most days. The gate to the building is often not closed/broken, so the security of the place is questionable. There have been cases of trespassing. The elevator is often questionable. At times, the door opens extremely slowly. The elevator is infamous for shaking and making loud thumps when going between floors. The blinds in the bedrooms are not good at blocking out light. The included desk chair is atrociously uncomfortable. It is too short for the desk and it also rocks, tending to lean backward. I suggest buying any random cheap chair from Ikea. The pricing is quite expensive. It is upwards of $11,000 for 2 semesters, which is over $1000 a month. Although this is more of an apartment, it might be a better option to opt for apartments that are not affiliated with the school for a cheaper price. Due to the over-capacity of students, some freshman (like me) were forced to stay at Villas instead of the regular dorms."

"While Irish Hall may be an older academic community, it is quieter than new developments and is in an amazing location, especially for business students."

"Besides the Barrett dorms, Tooker House is amazing. The lobby feels like you’re walking into a hotel lobby, and the entire building is very new, updated and modern. The bathroom is a great size, and has really good lighting. The rooms have a lot of space compared to the other dorms, but of course can feel a little small when sharing with another person. The bathroom is definitely the best part!"

"Decent size rooms. Thankfully no closets; only wardrobes. We were able to rearrange the entire room until we had it to our preference - cant do that with closets. The bathrooms are quite large and had so much storage space."

"Living at Cereus Hall was a great first year experience as a Barrett Student. I lived in a Shared Room with a Shared bath, this helped me make close friends for the rest of the year. Living on the third floor meant you lived on the same floor where there was a lounge, and it could get a bit loud if you were near it. The 6th floor had a shared kitchen space and tables to do homework, and I would go there often to do my work. However, the room itself is very dark because there are only lights on the sides of the wall, I would recommend bringing lots of lights and maybe even led strips for overhead lighting. The bathroom was in good condition and very clean compared to other halls in Barrett. The Barrett complex is farthest away from the engineering dorms though, and it also means it's far away from most of your classes."

"I am currently living in the Juniper Hall located in the Barrett Complex! I personally like the dorm and recommend it for anyone who is thinking of living on campus as a freshmen in Barrett. I live in a quad-format where four people have individual rooms and share two bathrooms and a common living room area. It is great because I only need to share a bathroom with one other person and the living room is often a great space for hanging out with friends. The living room includes a couch, a table of four, a sink, and a mini-fridge. I brought my projector and so I often watch movies and shows in the living room. Regarding my individual room, I think it serves its purpose. The desk that it comes with is fairly small so I brought my own foldable table from home for more work space. No complaints with the bed. I wouldn't worry about having a crappy dorm if your coming to Juniper Hall! "
