"The dorms are very nice and the RAs don’t care what you do at all. Having your own bathroom is super nice too." See all 1 review

"This dorm was one of the nicer ones on campus when I was a freshman. However the rooms are a small space to be sharing with another person and the bathroom was suite style and was always locked by suitemates. Sink space was very small for 2 girls, especially since it could really only fit both of our toothbrushes and hairbrushes. Closets were nice for the space but def buy drawers for under the bed for extra storage. Location is pretty terrible since it corners Alaska and aster (dangerous streets and they found multiple dead bodies by the dorm the year I stayed there). If you are female you were required to stay on the fourth floor. You do get the chance to take classes on the bottom floor which was really nice. Shares spaces outside of room were often locked and had terrible, cheap, uncomfortable and torn up furniture. Walls were pretty thin so you could hear other conversations and activities. Have headphones. Fire alarms also go off often. Using the kitchen was a pain due to having to hike up a hill to rent pots and pans and then return them. Back door to dorm was broken so anyone could get in. Game days are an experience." See all 2 reviews

"Security: Jackson Hall was part of the Pentagon Community on campus and I thought it was cool because it was sort of a gated community, rather than a usual dorm. If you are worried about your safety, there are three security points: the front desk or side gates, your building entrance, and your room. However, sometimes the building doors would not lock properly unless you slam the door.

Buildings: The rooms were decent sized, definitely enough for a few friends to hang out in. The buildings itself were somewhat outdated and we had trouble with mold being on the ceiling fan when we first moved in. Each building in the pentagon consisted five "stacks" that were each made up of three different floors, and each floor had 3 - 4 rooms. Each stack had 9 - 12 rooms, a bathroom on each floor and a kitchen on the second floor.

Bathrooms: Considering it was community bathrooms, it was expected to be dirty and sometimes bothered me. I bought shower slippers as a precaution. However, there were three bathrooms per stack so it was a lot better than other dorms' bathrooms.

Location: The location is my favorite aspect. You can literally see Tiger Stadium from the dorm. If the football game is too loud, I can always make a short 5 minute walk to the library if I needed to study. As a freshman, most of your classes will be in the Quad, which is anywhere between a 5-8 minute walk from the dorm. Additionally, the Union, or the food court, is no more than a 10-12 minute walk away." See all 2 reviews

    Beauregard Hall

"Rooms are smaller than advertised and damaged when I moved in. Pieces of the blinds were taken off and thrown under the bed. I had a huge black stain on the mattress because the AC is moldy and makes everything moldy. The wardrobe handle is broken and I have to fix it myself every few weeks. It looked like they waxed and sealed the floor without sweeping the floor first, there's hair and dirt sealed into the tiles. My roommate and I are very clean people and do not leave food lying around; however, there were so many roaches for no reason. Filing work orders doesn't really work, meaning you may see changes a few months later. The custodians are kind and hardworking people but the dorm is never really clean. There is mold currently incubating in the microwave. There is a serious mold issue with the bathroom and the AC units. Our bathroom door literally split in half and I had to duck tape it back together because no one would fix it. The inside courtyard area of the Pentagon is nice, and it's in an alright location, but don't stay here. It's not clean, there's no elevators, hot water outages, and sometimes power outages in the stairwells for days at a time. It's cheaper than other dorms for a reason, but stay if you'd like." Acadian Hall at LSU

"super convenient location; right by the 459 (but they closed it during my spring semester smh) and most of the science buildings. i love the big window and the walk in closets (they’re great if you’re uncomfortable changing in front of your roommate). the building is kinda nasty and very dusty, and the AC went out several times. also a water pipe burst above my floor and most of the floor flooded. the rooms are small but you get used to it. the library in acadian is a great study spot and the courtyard is beautiful. pick a room with an even number and you’ll get a slightly nicer view of “unity field” instead of the parking lot. decent parking for lsu.
