  • San Rafael at UCSB

"Close to lecture halls, Isla Vista, and dining halls, San Rafael is the place to be. Make sure to take advantage of the pool nearby."

  • Rated 4 / 5 stars by 2 UCSB students

"Overall a great choice for freshmen housing! I was in a triple and the room was bigger than I expected. I never had a issue with the room getting too hot or too cold. The only problem was having to get used to communal bathrooms but after a while it was just normal."

  • Manzanita Village at UCSB

    Rated 4.1 / 5 stars by 8 UCSB students

"Great room but awful to live in. Manzanita is EXTREMELY antisocial. I lived here for a quarter and became extremely depressed. I spoke to no one in the building, it was always too quiet and no other freshman were around. Grew extremely depressed as a result. Would not recommend to any freshmen."

  • Rated 4.1 / 5 stars by 4 UCSB students

"I lived on the second floor corner room and the rooms were double so it was an apartment for 4. It’s VERY spacious, clean, quiet, but it was the furthest off campus university owned apartment. You’d have to commute via bus or bike because walking is a little too far. The apartment was built in 2015 so it’s still relatively new and the buildings in great condition. The apartment complexes have triple and doubles but all of them only have 2 bathrooms. There is a study lounge at the end of the hallway for each floor."
