Hansee is musty and smells bad all the time. There's no airflow in the hallways, bathrooms, or kitchens, so smells just linger for days. Stuff breaks all the time because the building is so old - one year a bunch of people's radiators started leaking and flooded their rooms over winter break. The gaps under the doors are huge so you can hear everything happening in the hallway at full volume. Also there's noise coming from all sides outside (Denny field and greek row are both often loud late at night). Bathrooms are communal, and people DO NOT keep them clean, and same with kitchenettes. There is mold growing in the showers that is never fully cleaned. There is only one full kitchen with an oven in the building (Blaine 3rd floor), all other...

Hansee is old and funky - but really cool! Very quiet. The layout of all the rooms can vary a lot - some rooms have built in furniture and some rooms have moveable furniture. The natural light was pretty nice and the aesthetic was great. It’s a good building for someone who doesn’t want a roommate and doesn’t want to deal with apartment living yet. However, it’s quiet and not the easiest place to make friends. Rooms are about 100-120sq ft. Third floor has the most kitchens.

Hansee gets a lot of unnecessary hate. The single rooms and quiet hours are great as someone who doesn't spend all their time in their room, as it's a nice, quiet space of my own to go back to at the end of the day. Location is perfect, close to most classes as well as to U Village, and significantly reduces how far you have to walk to and from greek row for parties. Community bathrooms are fairly nice considering it's an old building and they're shared amongst a good amount of neighbors, but honestly never had to wait to use the showers or anything. Kitchenettes provide a good area for cooking, and the sound of the piano in the general rooms is quite nice to study to. Be prepared to have to choose between opening your window and dealing wi...

Hansee is the only beautiful dorm building on campus. It has 24/7 quiet hours which is nice because you can enjoy parties across the street on Greek row but always come back to a nice quiet dorm. Rooms are mostly singles except for the sorority rejects who all live together in the attic during fall quarter. Bathrooms are small and old; I got trapped in a stall a couple times after the doorknob broke. Building has the world's slowest elevator, so always use the stairs if you're in a hurry.
