Since it was built a while ago the rooms are pretty huge for a dorm, especially compared to the other dorms on campus. My Triple in Clark Kerr was 2x the size of an average triple for the same price. The location is very nice since you are in a pretty secluded neighborhood in the Berkeley hills around 0.8 miles from campus. The walk to campus is very nice and will definitely get you in shape. The food is pretty good with the exception of some off days, but the ambiance in the dining hall will make you feel like you are in a mission-esque mansion with a very nice outside dining area as well. I am apart of GETH the themed housing program at Clark Kerr which also is located in a nice area in building 4.

I live in a double suite with seven people in Clark Kerr and have had a mixed experience. The culture is definitely completely different from the rest of Berkeley, there are a lot of people from socal who are in Greek life, and it's definitely the least racially diverse dorm at Berkeley. I've found that if you live in a suite and aren't super outgoing, it's difficult to find a community here. That being said, this campus is absolutely gorgeous and definitely has the best amenities and food. Although the walk to campus is pretty far, I've found it to be therapeutic (when the weather is nice) and a good way to force myself to exercise lol. And if walking isn't your thing, you can always take the bus, which comes pretty frequently (but not al...

Sick experience living here because it was far from campus and felt like it had its own culture. Though I felt like I wasn't the most outgoing person, it was easy to make friends at the dining hall and within the buildings as a result of the happiness of the people there. Though some of the amenities were really old and the infrastructure is a little confusing, I would recommend Clark Kerr (over all the other dorms) 10/10.

Pro: - Pool, Olympic gymnastics center, archery - Away from campus, so it has a more peaceful vibe - Large Rooms - Near frat row - Fire trails are nice to hike - Deer sightings after 11pm and nice view of SF Cons: - Very Dangerous to be out alone between 10pm-5am. A friend was robbed at gunpoint waiting for the bus (I'd recommend using a bike) - Very far from campus and UPHILL so you will definitely get in shape ;) - Frat row may sometimes be loud - Suites make it more difficult to find friends Overall, CKC used to be a school for the deaf so you will find the best rooms. However, it is dangerous so please stay safe :)

Best dorm ever ! Clark Kerr has huge rooms and are very spacious. The walking distance to campus isn’t bad / bus stop is right in front of Clark Kerr.

I lived in the global theme housing program at Clark Kerr in my spring semester. Even though the location is far from my Northside morning classes, it is pretty nice and spacious. The food is excellent with outdoor seating and a large indoor dining hall. Bathrooms and showers are really clean. People do fight for indoor biking spots since there's limited spaces. I also sometimes hear neighboring people's voices. Also it's next to wonderful hiking trails. I just wish it was cheap since it was very expensive.

Yes, Clark Kerr is far, but it has various good qualities. I usually ate at crossroads, but that was just because there were more options there (the food quality at Clark Kerr is just as good). It was the cheapest option for me since I lived in a quad. Living in a quad was actually super fun since the room was quite large. There are a bunch of athletes living in CK, so, if you are into that, more power to you. I would say my favorite part of Clark Kerr was feeling like I lived far enough from campus. It felt like a whole other little community. I'll talk about some negatives. Clark Kerr is kind of far, but that encourages you to pick up biking, skating, or scootering to school! Plus, a 5 minute bus ride is always available (AC transit and...

Clark Kerr has some of the largest rooms compared to other units. You don’t have to check in whenever you come in buildings which is a plus (residents in the units usually have to check in with ID after certain hours). The walk to campus isn’t too bad. The only con is that it can feel isolating from campus-life if there are late events or even going to and from the library. However, you can use bear-walk or the night shuttle. Some pros are: there aren’t too many residents so study spaces are easier to find and the student center is almost always empty, there is never a line to eat at the dining hall on the Clark Kerr, is near the fire trails, a pool, and a track. It has beautiful views! Highly recommend. One thing that can be seen as a con/...

Absolutely the best dorm available at Berkeley. Amazing natural setting, great rooms, unique amenities, etc. It had everything I could ever want in a form.

I absolutely loved living in Clark Kerr; however, this might depend on your roommate(s)/floormate(s) situation and your personal living preferences. The Clark Kerr dorm rooms are the biggest compared to the other dorms, so if you want your personal bed (as opposed to bunk beds) with lots of space/storage in the room, I cannot recommend Clark Kerr enough. The only con is the location, considering it's the dorm that's farthest from campus. But it was often nice to be farther away from campus because it was quieter, felt safer, and had a lot of things to do (e.g. volleyball, basketball court, lots of green space). I'm definitely biased, but I genuinely think this is the prettiest dorm and feels like its own little campus (people often remark h...
