The hall feels kinda abandoned. The rooms are spacious but you can hear everything from Spartan stadium and the marching band practice. There is also no place to get food except the vending machines. I do not recommend
if any dorm were considered "average" Wilson would definitely fit that description best. It's not a nightmare like the East dorms and it's not as favorable as dorms found in Brody or North. As a non-engineering major, I would say the best thing about this dorm is that you're close to the largest gym on campus. Besides that, the character of the dorm is pretty mediocre; the color scheme is kinda ugly, and it's the one dorm in South that doesn't have any significant amenity (Wonders & Holden have Sparty's, Case has both a Sparty's and Dining Hall, etc.) besides the CORE LLC. As for the rooms, they're tiled and the floor gets pretty dusty often. The 6th floor has no lobby decor whatsoever but the ceilings are high. The bathrooms are okay, kind...
The room itself is standard and ur own bathroom is nice too but if you’re not engineering major it sucks
Pros: suite style so you are responsible for cleaning your own bathroom and you can keep it as clean as you want, larger rooms than most on campus, freshman dorm so it is easy to make friends because everyone is looking for them, very close to breslin, munn, and stadium. Cons: no dining hall in the building, classes can be far away since you are at the edge of campus, freshman dorm so it is loud, you might get messy suitemates so the bathroom may be messy.
Pretty good location. Suite bathrooms are a major plus. Rooms are standard dorm rooms. Facilities workers are pretty nice. Annoying to go down to the first floor to fill water every time since the tap water is questionable. Multiple Spartys in halls around Wilson, but would prefer one in Wilson itself. Package processing is a mess sometimes.
Facilities workers are pretty nice. Pretty ugly building safe to say. Did not enjoy living here. Mediocre to low quality.
The room itself was fine for a dorm room although dust caked the room no matter how many times I cleaned it felt like they were blowing dust through the vents. The bathroom was decent water pressure isn’t the best but got the job done sometimes the water would randomly go cold but didn’t take long to heat back up. I know some bathrooms are more updated, mine wasn’t but also wasn’t the worst. Wilson doesn’t have a dining hall or sparties, so you have to walk to another dorm in order to get food. Other halls in south have gyms, music rooms, movie theaters etc wilson doesn’t have any of that. However the location is great you have access to multiple busses to get anywhere on campus decently fast.
Average dorm room and average bathroom for a big university nothing special. Location is for first year engineering students, highly recommended for freshman because of location Case is alright, one of the worst cafeterias I’d say for MSU but got 3 combo locations around south neighborhood so it’s ok. Wilson is good for first year engineering students and your classes are around the south side(Stem, egr building, bio med, etc) CoRe Events are good and there are a lot of career fair days around.
Especially as an engineer, South neighborhood was always a great location since all of my classes weren’t too far away, especially EGR 100 and 102 which most of not all engineers end up taking. The room itself was spacious and I never felt cramped with my roommate, even when we had a transitional roommate it was still good. Bathrooms are what you make it, always hot water, sink is good, but I wouldn’t drink directly from it. Keep it clean and you should have a nice place.
