Hubbard Hall Reviews
Michigan State University East Neighborhood
Reviews Summary
Hubbard Hall, a college dorm at Michigan State University, offers a mixed experience according to student reviews. The dorm features suite-style bathrooms and spacious rooms, with some praising its close proximity to the best spartys on campus and the Akers dining hall. Students enjoy the view from higher floors, perfect for a peaceful study environment. However, some residents have mentioned maintenance issues like mold, leaks, and cleanliness problems. The location of Hubbard Hall is a point of contention, with it being far from many campus buildings, bars, and downtown. On the bright side, the bus system makes commuting more manageable. The on-site Sparty's is a convenient spot for socializing and grabbing a quick bite to eat. Overall, while Hubbard Hall has its drawbacks, such as limited laundry facilities and a distant location, it also has its perks like community bonding, decent room sizes, and easy access to food options.

everyone hates hubbard for no reason. lowkey a p nice dorm. suite style bathrooms, best spartys on campus, only like 12 mins from broad and the msu cata station, killer study spaces. plus the view is great on the higher floors. I wake up every morning to the best view on campus
I lived there freshman year in 2019 and lovedddd it. Super close to Akers for the dining hall, my room was really clean and the lobby areas were always very clean. Spartys is awesome and I just loved it there.
The rooms are pretty tacky and gross. All tiled so you need to always clean. Having a bathroom is nice but definitely always was full of mold!
Had a great roommate and terrible suitemates. RA didn't do ANYTHING. Floor was quiet but not judgemental about it
This is the furthest building from anywhere on campus. The rooms are continually way to hot so you have to have a window open at all times of the year. There’s one study room on every floor and all the even number floors have study rooms with couches. If you want to fill your water bottle you have to go all the way down to the first floor every time and the water tastes like soap. The bathrooms only have one tiny little counter to set things on and with four people they get filled quickly. If you want to take apart your bed they are bolted together and are incredibly hard to move by yourself. You get a desk with a drawer but in the drawer is a pull out desk so you can’t even fit anything in the drawer. The flooring is a gross tile that neve...
This dorm room is the armpit of campus. The rooms feel like prison cells and the bathrooms are extremely old and disgusting, no matter how hard you try to clean it. The only positive thing about this dorm is the spartys with fried food, everything else is a horrible living experience.
Feels like living in a concrete prison. The bathroom was disgusting when we got there and needed constant maintenance. Walls were not sound insulated at all, meaning I could constantly hear people doing stuff in nearby rooms. Location is really annoying but the bus nearby takes you straight to the middle of campus and comes by often. Spartys is really good but the nearest dining hall (Akers) is subpar. If you get a high floor you have a good view
Upper floors have a great view and the grille at the sparties is sweet! Bring fans it gets hot cheers
The location is absolutely terrible. It is super far from everything. There is 12 floors and the smallest amount of washers and dryers. People literally go feral in the laundry room. You have to clean your own bathrooms and the rooms are ok. The only thing I liked about Hubbard was the grill downstairs.
Building is quite literally crumbling. Mold, bugs, mice, leaks, and other issues. Room was filthy when I moved in. Lower floors are worse for everything, but friends on upper floors still had issues with leaks and ceiling collapses in bathrooms. If you’re lucky enough to get a nicer room, pretty good room size, Sparty’s inside and dining hall a short walk away. Not easy to walk anywhere else on campus, but busses run regularly.
