Hillside Village doesn't have the most modern buildings out of the dorms at CSULB, but they are suitable for living and for business students, the dorms are very close to the COB. Depending on which building you choose, it may be a shorter or longer walk to the food court but isn't excessive. The only complaints are the lack of an individual AC system in the dorm rooms and the peculiar laundry room. Otherwise, I had an enjoyable experience living at Hillside.
I enjoyed how close Hillside was to the campus, and I loved the brick walls inside. However, the bathrooms were cramped, and the building I was in only had one washer and dryer. The unit broke constantly and it was a nuisance. I liked being close to campus but the buildings are old and need renovations.
The dorm building is a bit of a walk from the rest of campus where classes are but is right next to a shuttle bus stop which is convenient! There is a common room you can meet people at in each building, but not much else going on in the building aside from that (there is also a little laundry room basement which looks like the set from SAW but it’s useable I guess). The rooms have a decent amount of room and spaces you could put stuff in along with a little fridge, but unfortunately lacks AC which can be killer. A decent dorm though overall and you can definitely decorate to make it more cozy :)
