Anderson Hall Reviews
American University
Reviews Summary
Anderson Hall, a popular freshman dorm, offers a mix of pros and cons based on student experiences. One of its standout features is the beautiful city view, which many residents appreciate. While rooms can be on the smaller side, they typically provide enough space for essential furniture like desks and storage, especially for those staying in doubles. However, triples are not recommended due to storage space issues. The dorm's location is highly praised, with convenient bus stops right outside. Renovations have improved the lounges, particularly the kitchens, making them a highlight for residents who frequently use these communal spaces. Bathrooms are well-kept with good shower facilities, though some issues like faucet water pressure have been noted. Air conditioning can be problematic, with some finding it inadequate or locked at a fixed temperature. Despite minor maintenance delays, the cleanliness and upkeep of the dorm are commendable, thanks to diligent staff. Overall, Anderson Hall offers a good freshman experience with its combination of comfort and convenience.

Lived here as a freshman, the renovations are pretty nice if you use the lounges a lot (especially the kitchen), but other than that, pretty standard residence hall. A/C was finicky which sucked for the first month or two but the heat was consistently good. Wouldn't recommend living in a triple in Andy as I had a lot of friends who did that and often fought over storage space, but for two people it's good enough. Also, go to Letts for laundry lol

Pretty standard college dorm. The room is a bit tight but I was able to have my own desk and burrow. There are study rooms as well as a large common room. Basically everything I expected for my freshman year.

I lived in a double as a freshman. The room was spacious, bathrooms were in pretty good condition, lounges were newly renovated. The only issues I encountered were with the bathroom faucet water pressure and the room air conditioning being locked (couldn't adjust temperature past 72 degrees F).

Rooms are small but comfortable, air conditioning/ heating is ass. If there’s something wrong with your room such as leaking window , broken light, etc. don’t expect it to get fixed quickly. Overall a good experience , maintenance does a good job at keeping the area clean. Kudos to them
