"The building is old and the bathroom stinks. I lived in Adams hall and it was often really loud because the students would party all the time. However, the rooms were spacious and generally clean. "

"Great to be in this or Stern for Freshman year. Great community and very social. Apply to these two first, and then probably Norcliffe Meier and then Flomo, then FroSoCo."

Soto
Rated 3.3 / 5 stars by 1 Stanford student
"The dorm is older and I think dorms such as Branner or Toyon Hall are nicer in comparison. However, the location is great. If given the choice between living in GovCo (very nice dorms, very spatious, in comparison to Soto which is quite old and the dorms are very small), I am not sure which one I'd pick. I think my advice is to not fixate too heavily on which dorm you're assigned but to realize that all dorms have their pros and cons. "

Naranja
Rated 3.4 / 5 stars by 2 Stanford students
"Naranja has nice rooms for singles and some of the best bathrooms on stanford campus, only issue is how creaky everything is, severe lack of sound proofing and a slight smell in the hallways"

"It's a really quiet dorm community with in-dorm dining for those of you who don't like being perceived when you eat alone. I live in a one room double which is really big, has three windows, and high slanted ceilings so it feels pretty spacious. The best part is that the gym is so close by -- literally across the street. At least it's closer to main quad than Govco, but it's still a hike to get places."

"The RFs are stellar and super hands on. You get all sorts of fascinating discussions with some very interesting people. However, the building is old and designed for grad students so it isn't very nice. Community is severely lacking."

Narnia
Rated 3.8 / 5 stars by 1 Stanford student
"Narnia is a senior housing. The building surrounds a courtyard in the middle. The rooming situation is essentially two adjoining singles with one entrance. This means that one room has a lot of privacy and the other, with the door that leads to the greater dorm area has much less privacy. The bathrooms are decent, with two per floor. But there is only one toilet and two showers per bathroom. The kitchen is large and spacious, with a decent sized pantry. The location leaves much to be desired. It's rumoured that the dorm is called Narnia because it's so far away from everything. It's about a 15 minute walk to tressider and depending on where your classes are, you could be walking anywhere from 10-30 minutes. You could opt to cycle, Narnia has a bike rail outside and that would cut down your travel time by a lot. The courtyard is a nice touch, there are a few hammocks, some picnic tables and a few benches. There are trees and other flora so if you have allergies it might not be the best place for you. One thing to note is that Narnia has a reputation as the stoner house, so if you're not into that this may not be the place for you."

Donner
Rated 4 / 5 stars by 1 Stanford student
"Amazing location on campus, few minutes away from Main Quad by walking and even less by bike. Dining hall is alright usually, but weekend brunch specials are top tier. Bathrooms are almost always clean. Downside: Laundry. Donner shares its laundry facilities with another dorm in Stern, yet the laundry is limited to seven washers and eight dryers. The dryers tend to go out of commission from misuse, but as of writing, half of the dryers are currently broken."

"EVGR A (now known as Duan Family Hall) has some of the highest quality housing on campus since it was a building meant for graduate apartments but was repurposed for undergrad. you'll be given a large living room with a fridge and microwave (no stove though) and your own bathroom, just be wary of the potentially low water pressure in the rooms, the long wait times for the elevator (add 5 mins to your class commute), and the lack of community among people on your floor / in the building"

Suites
Rated 4.5 / 5 stars by 1 Stanford student
"Relatively small rooms. I recommend playing around with the furniture layout to maximize the space that you can actually move around in. Each suite is either 4 or 6 people, although there are two 8 man suites I think, which are just 2 4-person suites stacked on top of each other. Everyone has their own room. Having a common room is the biggest draw here. It comes with couches and a coffee table. Bathroom is large, though it's just a shower, a toilet, and two sinks. Suites dining has gone downhill since RDE took it over. It's basically Ricker but worse and with more snacks. Super nice to be near AEORC and the engineering quad. Suites field is great for drinking and vibing. Overall - highly recommend."
