Is Riley Hall the best dorm at University of Oregon?

Students rated Riley Hall a 3.3/5 stars. Here's what they had to say.

The room itself is great and spacious, with large windows, and a sink. Thus, the layout can be changed to your preferences. However, no AC. There is a heater thermostat though. Floor 2 has two girls' showers and 1 boys' showers. Floor 3 has two boys' showers and one girls' showers. The custodians come by often to clean them. Location-wise, it's off campus but there is a bus station right there making it super easy to get to class. The bus comes by every 10 minutes. Dining can get repetitive if you don't want to commute to campus every day. The north side is very noisy since it's on a busy street. The building itself is pretty old but manageable. It can definitely be a quiet hall with not many community activities.

This specific room was a great size for a double and had a sink as well which was convenient. It is located right across from the showers and restrooms which made it all the more convenient to use those facilities. The only issues include the extreme noise pollution (even with the windows closed), due to not only the thinness off the walls and window panes but the location as well; the hall is situated in an area that is abundant in fraternity and sorority houses, so nights can be pretty loud, but it is easy to adjust and desensitize yourself to. The location of the specific room itself is also a contributing factor to the outside noise pollution due to the windows facing the front of the building rather than the back which faces a parking garage and parking lot. The showers are unsightly, but get the job done. The restrooms are decent. Being on the second floor makes it a short and easy walk up and down the stairs instead of the elevator (which is sort of slow). The kitchenette was cute, and the common areas aren't as "pretty" as the ones that the other residence halls may have, but the atmosphere is quaint, and it's a bit easier to build community. There's a basketball court and a cute courtyard in the middle of the building which is inviting and pretty. The laundry room is fine, but the laundry app doesn't always work quite how it should (can provide inaccuracies in machine availability and may not give you the $5 that should come with your school account). There are vending machines in the lobby, and the basement is a decent place for social gatherings. The EMX Eugene and Springfield busses also stop right in front of this hall which makes it super easy to commute to and from campus.
