Is Larch Hall the best dorm at Iowa State University?
Students rated Larch Hall a 4/5 stars. Here's what they had to say.
This was definitely a good place to live for a freshman who wants to meet people. The rooms themselves are fine. They're not tiny and they're not huge, basically just your standard dorm rooms. They do have AC & heat which is pretty nice although my roommate & I never learned how to adjust ours so we kind of just dealt with whatever temperatures the room was. We also never learned how to open our window, so I would reccomend doing both of those things. The best thing about living here, 100%, is the Orange 23 bus stop that is right outside the dorm complex. It was so convenient to just roll out of bed in the morning & hop on the bus, but especially in the winter they were always super full. It's also really nice to have Seasons right below you and the little East Side Market store is good for times when you just want a snack. Overall, decent dorm. It's nothing amazing, you do have to use communal bathrooms and they're not horrible but it's not great either. But generally speaking, this would be a decent place to live, especially for your first year.
