Is Poly Canyon Village the best dorm at Cal Poly SLO?

Students rated Poly Canyon Village a 4.3/5 stars. Here's what they had to say.

Came here from a youtube video. I have lived at PCV for 2 years in both double and single. The apartment is pretty clean and has a room service every other week. We also have access to a basketball court, ping pong, music room, and dining places in the quad. I wish the price was cheaper and it was closer to the campus.

No AC, but good kitchen and 2 bathrooms. No common areas either. Good amount of space, especially compared to dorms.

There isn’t any AC, so temperature regulation is difficult, but the other amenities are good. There are plenty of washing machines and the student resources are widely available. The location is a bit of a walk to campus, but it’s not terrible.

Honestly loved living in PCV and I’ll be bummed to move out, loved the community and having my own spacious room. I’d say the biggest downside is the lack of a garbage disposal because that creates some sink and trash issues. Also it’s far from some stuff on campus but if you know your fastest path to campus it’s a 10 minute walk typically.

Currently living here now in Gypsum(one of the buildings in the back) and I honestly think it's a really great housing option. Very close to campus (about a 10-15 minute walk down to Dexter Lawn and very walkable to get to class), and being able to room with friends so close to campus is also a plus. The rooms are decently sized, and the apartment itself has a lot of shelves and places for stuff. The kitchen is a bit small, so sometimes getting time to cook is tricky with other roommates. One of the major downsides would be the price of living here, but to have the convenience of not having to drive to school is very handy!
