Is North Mountain the best dorm at Cal Poly SLO?

Students rated North Mountain a 4.1/5 stars. Here's what they had to say.

Rooms are large and spacious. I’d say the bathroom situation is better than some of the other dorms like south mountain as at nomo it’s one bathroom every three rooms instead of a large communal one. This means you’re just sharing with your two neighbors which is nice. People tend to say nomo isnt as social as redbricks and while i do agree nomo can get pretty wild around holidays/weekends. Anyways 10/10 freshman experience here i’d recommend the corner rooms. Oh also not all the buildings have laundry so check on that too. I was in Lassen which didnt have its own laundry room but it was just a short walk to one of the neighboring buildings so i didnt really affect anything unless it was raining.

In my opinion, I believe that NOMO is the second-best, if not the best, dorm on campus. I think that no other dorm can really compete with it for location since it is so close to campus. It also has some of the biggest rooms on campus, which gives you a lot of room to work with. The bathroom is pretty nice in the sense that you do not have to share it with many people since you only share it with two other rooms, for a total of nine people sharing one bathroom. The only downside is that the showers are pretty small, so it did take a little getting used to using them. Now on to the cons which I don't have many. The major one is not having a kitchen and that may not be an issue for most people as campus housing compensates by giving you a microwave, but for me if I wanted to cook I needed to walk to another building while carrying all the supplies to do it. Also the only other thing I can think of which are minor and may not just be for NOMO is the initial room layout was weird and in my opinon was need to be changed and then also there was not much social aspect.
