10 West
Rated 3.8 / 5 stars by 1 Suffolk University student
"10 West can either be great or kinda awful. There is always a mouse and rat problem and Reslife always denies it. The location is really nice, - right across from Brattle bookstore - and you have access to Smith dining hall which is one of the best Suffolk dining halls. You can get screwed over with the rooms depending on if you get a studio apartment style or one with bedrooms. The studio style is cramped and there is barely any floor room with all the furniture and you cannot loft beds. "

"Pros- -Old Ames Building - Amazing View of the City - Close to City Hall - Court Cafe : Has Amazing muffins, sandwiches, drinks, and waffles. Wish it had a wide variety of made foods, but it is just cafe after all. - Modern Bathroom : The bathrooms at court are so fancy, rooms do differ though, one room might have a walk in shower, others might have a tub, but either way it's incredibly fancy, and have a good flush. The second for bathroom is amazing as well, along with the one in the court cafe. Clean and Fancy. - Basically Brand New building - Good AC and Heat -Cool RA's Cons- - Soda Vending Machines don't work - Lobby can be cold most of the time - 6 person dorms : (Nothing wrong with living with six people but if you live at court it's possibility you will be living in a six person dorm meaning: Everyone in one room, one of which I'm in.) - Always cold : The heat is too hot, and the AC is powerful so you could be freezing and the only thing to warm you is your hoodie - Dining halls: It's a hike to get some foods since Samia building is so far away along with Sargent. I go to Samia, but end up just ordering delivery because I don't have the time or I just don't want to hike through bitter cold to get a mid steak and cheese. -Walk: It's like 10 minutes to get to Sawyer and it's ALL up hill. up the hill cross the street, then up the stairs to cut through the old courthouse plaza and than up the hill to the front of miller residence and up small bump hill to get to Sawyer. Sometimes it makes me hate the fact I choose to live in and go to college in Boston, especially if you have to do it at 8am. -Slow Elevators: The Elevators are excruciatingly slow. I hate it so much, Takes forever to get to my room after a long day of classes. -Hear it all : You can hear calls through the windows, and basically all loud enough voices from the street below. If you're not a heavy sleeper like me, 6am is gonna be a hell of a time. -Space : Suffolk put 6 people into a tiny room that can barely fit all of us, while 4 people sleep in a huge single spaced room with multiple windows will never make sense to me. So if you're a large party of roommates pray you get a good room. Rating: 4.5 Honestly in comparison to other dorms Court St Is amazing. Unfortunately it's solely a freshman dorm, but Court St is a pretty good dorm. It's pretty and it's simple, but the thing is because of the lack of a proper lounge room that isn't a study room there isn't a really good flow to meet other people. "
