Hillenbrand Hall Reviews

Purdue University

Reviews Summary

Hillenbrand Hall offers a modern and comfortable living experience for college students, characterized by its spacious suite-style rooms and private bathrooms shared only with suitemates. The dorm is praised for its cleanliness and high-quality amenities including controllable air conditioning and heating. Each floor features a lounge and a kitchen, adding to the convenience and comfort of the residents. Although the dorm is situated further away from the main academic campus, residents appreciate its proximity to the COREC and other dining courts. The on-site dining court is noted for its quality, despite being less favored than Earhart by some. The basement offers additional amenities such as a gym, washers and dryers, a music room, and the practicality of a to-go box option from the dining hall. Hillenbrand Hall is particularly popular for those who value privacy and great views, though its distance from central campus may be a drawback for some. Overall, Hillenbrand Hall stands out as one of the best dorms on campus, especially for its spaciousness and the convenience of having a private bathroom.

Very nice and clean rooms with private bathrooms (shared with your other 3 suitemates). My floor didn't really socialize so not recommended for freshman who are looking to make friends on your floor. Also it is the farthest dorm from academic campus and also downtown West Lafayette. However, the rooms are really nice, clean so it's worth it for that.

I lived here during my freshman year (2019). This was pre-covid. The dining court, during that time, was amazing. It was super nice having a dining court downstairs. A con is how far away the building is from the academic side of campus. It's one of the farthest walks you can make from a residence hall. Loved how close it was to the COREC and other dining courts though. The building itself is new and the rooms are arguably the best on campus.

love the 2-room bathrooms, room is spacious and good quality, as well as the hall; the location is far from main campus, but so's a lot of other halls so its not a primarily hillenbrand thing. dining court is nice, although i prefer earhart more, but they're both close regardless. lots of people from data mine live here, which isnt a good nor bad thing. overall very nice! esp. compared to some other dorms

Loved hillyb, Great rooms (very spacious), controllable ac and heat, suite style and bathroom is shared between you and your suit mates only. Also has cleaning people clean the bathrooms. Great views too but far from main campus.

Each floor has its own lounge and kitchen which is really nice. It's a great dorm to live in considering you get your own bathroom. It is very spacious as well. The only downside is that it is slightly far from campus. It does help that Hillenbrand has its own cafeteria and it's pretty good!

I love the suite style dorms. The private bathroom really helped with my comfort level in the dorms and the rooms were spacious and air conditioned. The building is a little older and somewhat far from academic campus, but that never felt like much of a downside to me. Lounging areas and basement were really nice, and although the dining hall didn’t usually serve my favorite foods it was convenient for days i didn’t feel like leaving the building. This dining hall also has the option to purchase a to go box to leave the dining hall with food which was also very convenient for me.
