to be honest other than the mice on the floor it was pretty nice. My upstairs neighbors were pretty loud but other than that I enjoyed the dorm. The RDs and all the staff was great, but seriously I hope the elevator will be fixed for the next freshmen.
Race is a super great place to live if you want more personal space since you’ll have a personal common area (shared with suite mates) and a private bathroom. This has been a lifesaver for me because you don’t have to go all the way down the hall just to wash a dish or use the bathroom. Fair warning race is absolutely the party dorm, so on weekends trying to sign in a guest is going to take a while and it always super crowded. Also in my personal experience, unless you leave your door open, it’s pretty hard to get close with your floor mates. Everyone kinda just becomes friends with their four suite mates, so if you’re looking to interact with other people on your floor I would recommend living in bentley or millennium. I’m not saying it’s ...
Race Hall is a great option for freshman. It's located in the same area (within 2 blocks) as all other dorms, is one of the newer developments, and has all suite style layouts which I personally liked a lot. Most actual bedrooms are smaller than other dorms, but the common space and kitchenette more than make up for this.
I stayed at Race Hall my freshmen year of college! It was super nice I loved it. It’s apartment style so there is a living room/common area, then you have a kitchenette, a private bathroom with a shower, another private shower, and a sink in the hallway. There’s two bedrooms which both have two beds in them and two desks. It’s actually really cozy and I wouldn’t mind living there again. The building is really new and recently renovated so it’s super clean. There’s also security at the front. I lived on the 11th floor and the view of the Philadelphia skyline is soooo nice! Also you have your own thermostat with AC and heating. Literally the best place to live on campus as a freshmen if you want a suite style. In my opinion, Race Hall is the ...
I lived in a suite with 2 double rooms and a lounge area. If you are high up, there is a really nice view of Philly. There's a 50/50 chance you will get a nice couch. The room comes with a mini kitchen with a fridge. It is pretty spacious and good for meeting new people your first year. You get pretty close with everyone on your floor.
