Elm Reviews
California State University, Fullerton
Reviews Summary
Elm dorm, described by students, is a solid and well-maintained facility, though it's considered one of the furthest dorms from campus amenities. This distance becomes noticeable, particularly after a long day of classes. The rooms are decently sized, accommodating a mini fridge between the beds with room to spare, and boast clear windows, providing vibrant natural light. While the beds are generally firm, students suggest adding a mattress topper for a softer sleep experience. Shared bathrooms cater to eight people with two showers and two stalls, but they are often criticized for cleanliness issues. Despite occasional stalls being out of order and running out of paper towels on weekends, restroom congestion is rare. Students appreciate the clean hallways thanks to diligent staff. The common room, which houses a microwave, seating, and tables, becomes a hub for interaction, especially with the popular second-floor pool table. However, its upkeep largely depends on student initiative. Elm dorm is equipped with key amenities like proximity to the laundromat, cafeteria, and mail room, but space constraints and ventilation concerns are notable drawbacks. Overall, while Elm delivers fundamental dormitory functions, improvements in restroom hygiene and ventilation could enhance student satisfaction.

Elm is one of the furthest dorms from anything, really. Overall, it's not that bad, but after a long day of class, you can definitely feel the difference when you're walking back. Other than that, it's an average dorm.

Room: Big enough to fit a mini fridge by both beds and have enough room in between. Beds are nice, to some it may be firm, but for me it was fine. No need for a mattress topper unless you are used to super soft beds. Desk, closet and chairs are fine its a college dorm what else do you expect?
Bathroom: Shared bathroom with 7 other people(not including yourself). Two showers(one big, one small) both have a curtain covering the shower and another curtain to cover the changing area. Two stalls(one big, one small) you will never wait in line as it was never busy even with a stall being broken(plumbing issue or something). Two sinks(if i remember correctly). ON the weekends you run out of paper towels because pe...

Pros: clear window, everything close to you
Cons: dirty bathroom, hard mattress, little space for more than one person, one window for ventilation, common room maintained by students (if they want to)

Pros: Decent sized room, area big enough for a mini fridge, everything close to you (laundromat, trash, cafeteria, mail room)
Cons: Bathrooms are dirty most of the time, some dorm rooms come with stains, bed is very hard so buy a mattress topper, one window for ventilation, little to no space for 2 and 3 person rooms)
