Nike
based on 5 reviews
Nike is UCF’s bare-bones, basic college dorm room. Most rooms are two separate dorms, each sleeping 2, connecting to a shared bathroom. There is no kitchen in the building, just a shared preparation room on each floor. If you want to cook, you must walk across the cul-de-sac to the Nike community kitchen, which is usually busy. Walls are thin. Be prepared for issues with the elevator not working, and headaches with the Intellikey system. The parking lot is always full, so you can either wait for a spot downstairs, or drive to the 6th floor of the garage for an opening (not ideal for groceries, especially if you live on a higher floor). Most classes for freshmen are about a 10 minute walk, and it gets HOT in the fall. Bring a bike to cut down the time spent outside. - 4 years ago

Lake Claire

Nice apartment style room (4x2) with a kitchen and living room. kinda old though (oven takes a while to heat up, bugs and lizards get in easily, not the cleanest) but it’s nice having my own bedroom and not having to deal with a communal bathroom or kitchen. because of covid, the mail center was moved to literally the opposite side of campus behind the rec and wellness center and the hours aren’t the best. also, there isn’t really any security like other dorms such as towers or neptune but there’s at least a parking lot and it’s very close to the student union, memory mall, and the music building, theater building, and trevor colbourn hall. - 4 years ago

Orange Hall
based on 1 review
The buildings in the Libra community are some of the oldest dorm buildings on campus but the dorms are in good condition nonetheless. The L shaped dorm provided more privacy for my roommate and I but we still had to share a sink and had one bathroom that we shared with two other people. The dorms are in a great location on campus (close to most classroom buildings/the library, near a dining hall, across the street from the Recreation and Wellness center, and just outside of All Knight Study, a 24 hr study hall). There were problems like a minor leak in the roof and the occasional critter in the dorm but maintenance was always quick to respond. Every week there were also maintenance workers that vacuumed the floor, cleaned the sink, and mopped the bathroom for us. There is a kitchen, common area, laundry, and a mailroom that is provided for the Libra community but not in the individual dorm buildings. Of course there are other dorms on campus that provide more privacy but if you can deal with a roommate, living here is cheaper and worthwhile in my opinion! - 4 years ago

Libra Community

The room itself isn’t bad honestly. If you stay in the L-shaped rooms it’s more spacious which is what I’m in. The lack of a kitchen and one bathroom for four people kinda stinks sometimes. But overall not miserable living here so far. Location is top tier!!! - 2 years ago

Neptune Community

It was more modern compared to the other freshman only option. It also had private bedrooms and you only had to share the bathroom with 1 person. Only downside is there’s only 1 common room for the whole floor to share along with 1 kitchen. But I enjoyed it my freshman year - 2 years ago

Hercules

Very spacious for a dorm. Super cozy building and the community is great and I loved my room. There’s a beautiful fountain right in the middle of the buildings and mail is super easy. There’s an elevator in the building too. - 1 year ago

Tower 3 (Honors)
based on 2 reviews
There is four people using a shared kitchen and living space but everyone gets their own room. There are two bathrooms and everyone gets their own sink. The environment, at least for the honors building (3) is really good. There are amendidies like a computer lab down the hall. You can borrow a Wii and board games from the common area. It's expensive, but super worth it if you plan on cooking for yourself instead of the meal plan. It's a lot like an apartment, but it counts as a dorm so some scholarships will cover it. You can save common areas for later and I have a friend who hosts DND groups in put building for free. The only complaint I have is that they have had issues with the fire alarms not working, but other than that it has been great. The location is awesome as its across the street from a dining hall, restaurants, the arena, and the Amazon Hub on campus. It's on the outskirts of campus so classes aren't the closest but it's not more than an extra 10 minutes if you walk slow. They also have their own designated parking garage. - 4 years ago

Towers

I lived in a four bed, two bath in my freshman year and loved it. It didn’t even feel like living in a dorm. Occasionally the elevator breaks and that sucks when you have to go up several flights, but it wasn’t often enough for me to have my experience ruined. You can make as much noise as you want in your apartment and no one will hear you, but the walls in your individual bedspace are thin. The full size beds alone make it worth it. - 4 years ago
