Is Mahoney-Pearson the best dorm at University Of Miami?
Students rated Mahoney-Pearson a 3.3/5 stars. Here's what they had to say.
The location of Mahoney-Pearson is perfect, I have the dining hall not even 2000 feet away, and most of my classes near Dooly/Whitten/Comm is right nearby. However, the rooms definitely show their age. I remember when I first arrived, for the first two weeks, I always felt as if I was a little sick. There is definitely more-than-likely some kind of mold problem, in my opinion. There is no fridge, dishwasher, microwave, etc. Which, in most dorms is kind-of anticipated, but considering the cost of attendance of this university, a private one, would have these amenities in all dorms. Lakeside Village has these as a standard. Unless you're in a single, you're paired with your neighboring suitemates in terms of bathroom arrangements, a.k.a. "Jack and Jill" bathrooms. I prefer this over communal bathrooms 100%! But just keep that in mind, especially if your suitemates end up not cleaning up after themselves. It may just become your problem. It is a college dorm, in Miami, so a-lot of people will make noise way past hours, and I swear that nobody knows how to close a door here without absolutely slamming it. This is made worse as the hall ends up echoing their inability to know how to close a door properly.
