Hale Ikena was one of the better dorms I stayed in at UH Hilo. Price wise it is reasonable IF you don't buy the student meal plan. Hale Ikena having a kitchen makes it so that you are not required to buy one which is very nice. Hale Ikena is a quad, 2 people to a room, 2 rooms to a dorm. Pre-covid you would be sharing a bathroom and a kitchen between 4 people but I was here Spring of 2021 during covid so they limited it to one person per room 2 people per dorm which made it nice and spacious.
