Is St. Hilary the best dorm at La Salle University?
Students rated St. Hilary a 2.9/5 stars. Here's what they had to say.
Even though the building itself sucks the location is great. It's gated in with a bunch of other Freshman/Sophomore dorms and is very close to the Quad. Which is essentially the epicenter of La Salle. It's where the majority of your classes take place, has the best food joints, the football field/track, mailroom, etc. Basically St. Hilary is close to everything: the dining hall, the library, the metro, Fresh Grocer, the Apartments, etc. It's even just down the block from the Frats. There's also no doubt that you'll meet and make a ton of friends either in this dorm or on North Campus. But definitely stock up on water (I recommend a Brita) because there are no water fountains. You have to go to another building for that. Also bring one big fan and one mini fan...trust me you'll need it. There's no air conditioning and when I moved in it was high 90s outside and felt like 100 inside. From about August to September I literally had to sleep on top of the covers with the big fan right at my face.
Pros: -close to everything (unless you're a communication major) -among a cluster of dorms -Most Freshman live in North Dorms -whatever St. Hilary lacks the other dorms nearby make up for it cons: -no air conditioning -no water fountains (you have to go to a different building outside to get it) -horde water -no kitchens -windows have difficulties with screen and closing so a lot of times grasshoppers get it -roach/mice problems -bring roach traps
