Is Promontory Apartments the best dorm at CSUMB?
Students rated Promontory Apartments a 4.8/5 stars. Here's what they had to say.
I lived in a single in a 3 bedroom apartment. It is arguably the best place I've lived on campus. Pros: Every apartment has a full kitchen and a washer and drier in the unit. The rooms themselves are very spacious, as is the living room. Every room also has a private bathroom. The type of closet you get seems to vary based on the room layout. One of my roommates had a walk-in closet while the other had a smaller closet with a single door. I had a two-door sliding closet which was quite spacious. No meal plan is required. We also had our own mailroom and gym separate from the main-campus ones, so that was super convenient. Wifi was also better than in any other place I had lived on campus. Cons: There is no overhead lighting in Prom (excluding the kitchen and bathrooms), so make sure to bring some other source of light to supplement the small lamp they provide you. I'd also recommend bringing a fan because there is no AC and it can get a little warmer in the apartments at night. Lastly, it is about a 15-20 minute walk to main campus.
