Living in Vista Del Campo Norte (ACC) at UC Irvine

Interested in attending UC Irvine, or already a concurrent student and having trouble figuring out your next housing situation? Vista Del Campo Norte is one of the provided on-campus apartments at UC Irvine, associated with a company known as the American Campus Communities (ACC). Understanding what it's like to figure out which housing option to choose or which lease or on-campus apartment you would like to apply for can definitely be challenging, but here I'll dive into my own experience and give some insights about how I feel about living here in Vista Del Campo Norte.

What was your overall experience living in the apartment?

My overall experience was quite positive, has all the things you need, however, the washing machine is not included in the apartment and you have to walk to the washing room inside a different area of the apartment.

How big are the rooms?

Depending on which type of lease you have, the single rooms are a bit small, and the double shared rooms are surprisingly big even when shared with another person.

How's sharing a double like?

Personally, I lived in a single, but from what I've seen and heard, the shared rooms are a bit spacious, although there is no divider, meaning there is no sense of privacy.

How good is the location and the convenience to campus?

It's close enough to have a ten-minute walk to campus, as well as there are UCI bus shuttles that can bring you onto campus.

How is the noise level or ongoing disturbances?

I'd say the walls are thin to an extent, you can hear someone above you if they open their drawer, close the sliding mirror, and or play very loud music. In terms of outside noises from the apartment, it's very peaceful throughout the day and even at night. Although the apartment is across from the Arroyo Vista housing and fraternity and sorority houses, they tend to not be loud or as hearable from where you are.

Is the apartment furnished?

Yes, the apartment is furnished and contains a desk, twin-size bed, drawer, chair, couch, coffee table, dishwasher, and refrigerator.

What amenities or features of the apartment did you find useful?

The apartment has a nice swimming pool, as well as a small gym, and places to do work/study.

How was the roommate selection process?

For roommates, it's a more complicated and interesting process, you are only able to be roommates with people with the “exact” same floor lease plan. Even if you are doing a single or shared, it has to be the exact same floor plan to be roommates with someone you already have in mind, but in general, you still have to use a roommate app to find or put in your roommates that you found as they use those selections based on the app as your final roommates.

How was the internet connectivity?

The internet from what I've heard in the past was not the best, and disconnected frequently. However, during my time, it was good and would have a wifi outage maybe once in a while. Cellular reception is not the best and you may not even have reception at times, if you plan on gaming, an ethernet cable is highly recommended.

Are you allowed to bring pets?

Pets are not allowed under any circumstances, the only way possible to have a pet inside is if it is for medical/disability reasons.

How responsive were the apartment staff and maintenance team to any concerns or issues you had?

Very responsive and helpful, usually they'll be able to help fix whatever issue within the next day of you submitting an issue request.

How's the parking situation?

There is apartment designated parking, but you must pay quarterly for $305 a quarter.

Is there places to park bicycles?

Yes there are bike parking stations near the apartment.

Are there events or activities at the apartment?

Yes, Vista Del Campo Norte holds giveaways, events, and activities throughout the year, quite oftenly.
