"I lived in DaSilva my freshman year back in 2016. I was in a triple in a suite which had 4 bedrooms and a living room with 9 other guys. The best part of DaSilva was the two bathrooms in each suite so none of that communal showers nonsense. In the building there was a kitchen on one of the floors and a game room then the laundry room was on the bottom floor. SJU's app has a feature that notifies you when your laundry load is finished so that was really helpful. 9 people in a suite seems like a lot but there's a lot of room to stay out of each other's way and it kinda forced us to get to know one another. Fast forward to 2022 and these guys are some of my best friends I've met in my time in NY. It's on the Queens campus so it's a couple minutes walking distance from each class but to the city it's about 45 mins by subway. Definitely recommend this hall for incoming freshman. "

"Hollis Hall is known as the best freshman dorm to live in, and I agree! It was built in the early 2000s, so it is still fairly new. My suite had 1 bathroom, 2 bedrooms, one common area. There were 4 girls total and my bedroom was about 190sq feet. The common room had lots of space with a couch, table and plenty of cabinet space. My bedroom view was New York City! It was a very spacious and clean dorm! Highly recommend Hollis Hall for all incoming freshman."
